Large family friendly beach, not over crowded pleasant experience! Enjoyed a swim and then a wander around the township. Super interesting shops and great choice of restaurants . Can't say there was anything we disliked about our experience.

Swam the ocean parallel to the beach. Found all kinds of stupid trash despite the numerous available trash cans.

I have to list this as my favorite beach near San Diego. Clean, well kept beach. Moderate waves and lots of sparkly sand. The only drawback is lack of restrooms, especially south of the Hotel del Coronado Lots of room to spread out, great for grunion hunting too ( in season) . Be sure and use sunscreen as sand really... This is probably the widest beach we've ever visited. Whitest and finest sand. Beautiful. But too many dogs, too many paddleball players.

I'm a native San Diegan, but I've only been here twice. And while I prefer La Jolla and Del Mar for the waves, and OB for the neighborhood ambience, I was pleasantly surprised. Time was limited for a visiting friend, so I chose Coronado since it's closer for South Bay or southern San Diego residents. I'd been to Silver Strand... More

This is a great way to spend the afternoon. The beach is very large and accessible from many streets. It is very clean! There is hardly any trash or seaweed on the sand. The sand isn't too hot but beware, the water is really cold (unless you like that).

Although the beach wasn't crowded and had easy access it was covered in seaweed, yuck! The restaurants and shops were nice and the staff friendly and helpful.

This is an amazing beach, stretches for as far as the eye can see and has a concrete path way which gets you half way to the sea thus making it very easy access for strollers, elderly etc.

We spent a few days in the San Diego area and were destined to find a sandy beach. On the last day we searched online and read about this beach. We arrived around 10 o'clock and found the sand, set up camp and really enjoyed hanging out on this beach for the day! We also enjoyed all the coast guard... More

This beach was really, really nice. The beach was clean, it wasn't crowded at all. We went on a Tuesday. Water was calm and warm about 70 degrees ( per the white board signs posted at the lifeguard post ). We have young children and they enjoyed this beach, the sand is fine and you can see the gold glistering!
