When traveling to the Coronado dog beach that's adjacent to the beautiful public beach...be careful! Our dog was recently attacked by an unleashed dog. It ripped hair and sprained our dog's leg.The dog's owner was clueless. Just be careful while enjoying the beauty of Coronado. I do, however, highly suggest the municipal beach. more

I have spent several summers at the Hotel Del Coronado with my nieces and though the hotel is beautiful, I am not a fan of the beach. First, there is a long walk through the sand to get to the water. We had 17 family members in San Diego for a week in December. On the last day, 7 of us, including 3 kids ages 3-8, went across the bridge to Coronado. Coronado Beach is a wonderful place to spend the day.
