We visited Coronado Beach twice on our San Diego vacation. We are a family of four with two young boys (6&4). Coronado beach is absolutely beautiful with nice soft sand, expansive beach with plenty of room. The water is warm and the waves family friendly. We felt very safe as there are multiple lifeguards all over the beach. My 6... More

A short bus or taxi ride from the hotels near the convention centre, Coronado beach offered a long awaited chance to find some surf. We were not disappointed, as the waves were 6-7 foot, but not such a string undertow. However, the fun was marred by loads of seaweed both on the surface and the seabed. We were later informed... We visited several beaches during our recent vacation to San Diego, and Coronado beach was by far the cleanest, with the softest sand. We went on a Sunday afternoon so it was pretty busy, but not overwhelming. The sand is incredible....super-fine, and clean, with gold and black specks that sparkled in the sun. There is virtually no seaweed on the... More

We just returned from an evening at this pretty beach. This wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be. There is also a very picturesque town here. Great shops and restaurants. The beach is quite large and we were impressed at how clean and maintained it was. The waves on the Pacific were huge!!! Lots of kids riding wake... More

Sand was fantastic, water was cold but we loved it. Beach was quiet and clean. Not crowded at all. Great place if you want to play in the sand, play in the waves or catch some sun. There is also a nice sidewalk/boardwalk that you can stroll.

Not to be missed. Gorgeous, wide and long beach with soft sand and nice surf. Very clean! Drive around and you will find parking. Great to walk , sit, or play on. We had a fabulous long walk , then sat at the pool at hotel del for cocktails. PERFECT and memorable afternoon! Just do it!

We took the ferry over to Coronado for a day at the beach but were disappointed overall. The whole San Diego area had rain for a couple of days and the water at the beach had high levels of contanimation, so the lifeguards were advising against going into the water. The water was not clear at all, so we stayed... More

One of the best in the nation! The Hotel del Coronado is not to be missed - inside & out. Walk along Ocean Boulevard to see some beautiful old homes. Actually walk all through the town to see charming vintage homes.

Parking might be an issue if you don't get here early enough, but that's pretty much normal at any beach. Rolling coolers may be a pain since they don't roll well on sand. The water is clear and the sand is soft. Not a lot of rocks, so it's perfect for walking barefoot. If you're close to the Coronado hotel,... More

As beautiful a beach as you will ever see. Soft white sand, cool ocean breezes. It's an experience made even better by the various places to visit in the Hotel del.
