We are local to San Diego but have never felt the need to pay to go to the beach. We like Fiesta Island that is actually away from the beach crowds and calm enough waters that you can just hang out in the water. Fiesta Island was closed this last weekend for some boat races and it was super hot... More

Having been San Diego County residents for most of our lives, and never camping on the beach, this was our first time. We chose Silver Strand after a beach front site become available on line. We heard about the new improvements (electric and water) so we gave it a try mid-week. We were worried about the "party crowd" noise beforehand... More

My daughters wedding was spectacular there! We used True Beach Events. They were fantastic. The beach setting was so perfect. We stayed at Loews Coronado on the Bay which was right across the street. They were also the best. Our experience was so perfect.

A beautiful walking beach, the Silver Strand is a must for all. The next time, it might be fun to take a kite to try it out.

The sand is white and soft and there are plenty of lifeguard stations. There is a lot of seaweed right now, not sure if that is normal or higher levels than usual. Not enough to stop you but there is a lot of dry sea weed on the sand. The lifeguard stations are nicely spread and you can see much... More

Beautiful views, amazing water, gold-flecked beaches, and wonderful history! I would go back in a heartbeat for a trip to semi-paradise.

The best beach in the San Diego area. Plenty of parking available for $10 per day right at the beach. Life guards on duty and some great waves for body boarding. Fire pits for your evening fires if required. If your lucky you may even find the odd sand dollar as the tide goes out.

One of the best we've been to. Clean white sand and lots of space. Would recommend to locals or tourists

Good waves, warm water. Just be careful of the stingrays (my youngest got stung!) Lack of retail facilities seem strange to us Europeans.

Easy access, worth the $10 parking fee. Not too crowded if you get away from the campers-camping crowd. We were happy to escape the chaos of the beach on the other side of Coronado, which was just a madhouse of people and no parking. Yes, there's a lot of kelp all over the shore, but not impossiblle. Plenty of lifeguards.... More
