RV camping at Silver Strand

Beware of the parking rate of the weekend. We arrived late and still had to pay $8.00 parking to watch the sunset. Free beaches up in town. Weekdays, it is much more reasonable.

The park has lots of parking and Miles a beautiful sand beach. I had a bit of trouble getting the machine to accept my money for payment for the parking. I come to this park every chance I get whenever I'm in the San Diego area.

We just got back from a wonderful SoCal vacation in our motorhome. We have a family of 5, including our 3 kids, aged 10, 6, and 2. Over the course of our trip we stayed at a number of RV Parks and Campgrounds. Silver Strand was a highlight for sure! What a great place to stay with your RV. We... More

This is a very nice beach with sand dunes and views of the Coronado Bridge and downtown San Diego. We only stayed for a bit, which didn't justify the 8 dollar parking fee, but it was cold and windy since it was December. I can see this being a nice RV camping spot during the summer however.

The beach itself is very pleasant and clean. You can walk for a good long stretch collecting sand dollars and shells and enjoying the view.... More

Living in the South Bay part of the San Diego area we have been to the Silver Strand beach numerous times. It is a great beach - it costs to get in, but there are plenty of lifeguards, restrooms, good parking, and a real short walk to the beach. One thing that is nice is that you can go from... More

This is one great beach. It is very nice and expanding. The sand is so fine and it looks gold. A great place to enjoy the sun and water and to take a walk on the fine and bright sand. Being a public beach it is very busy and offers no sense of privacy. One thing to know: it could... More

Stopped here while wandering from Coronado. Found tons of sand dollars, might have been from the huge tides currently happening. Lifeguard towers were removed and bulldozers were creating dunes to fight possible erosion and flooding.

This beach is right across the street from Loews Coronado. This is a great beach to walk along while occasinally stopping to pickup and look at the different kinds of seashells. Occasionally you will see the Navy Seals running down the beach.
