Sherman Gardens, on Pacific Coast Highway, dates to 1966 and now has very well developed grounds that feature a marvelous variety of plants of the planet. Sections include a succulent garden with Euphorbias and Cacti, African aloes and monstrous uglies. The humid hothouse is a great place for exotic ferns, orchids, Zingiberaceae, and familiar house plants grown full size and... More

My husband and I stopped by Sherman Gardens on a recent trip to Newport Beach, and it was so beautiful! It was surprising to find in the middle of a city, and was absolutely worth the $3 admission charge. They give you a map to follow and they also have a cell phone tour, where you call a number and... This is Corona del Mar's star attraction for people who love plants. It is small, but a complete botanical garden with all the growing conditions represented. The desert garden area is especially well-done. Whoever laid it out is a genius. Whenever I have company from out of town, I always take them here for a delicious lunch, followed by a... More

We have passed the Sherman Library and Gardens on the Pacific Coast Highway In Corona del Mar many times, not knowing what lay behind the adobe walls! On the advice of the concierge at our hotel, we decided to take a look and were very pleased we did! The gardens are small, but extremely varied and lovingly tended. We visited... More

This is a beautiful place to see, the grounds are gorgeous and the flowers are always so vibrant. We had tea at Café Jardin and it was good a little pricey so I wouldn't recommend eating there unless it's a special occasion. You can always go and enjoy the garden and eat somewhere else. The little shop has many interesting... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Sherman Library and Gardens. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. I was particularly impressed by the extraordinary succulent garden. They had a stunning Christmas tree set up as well. Well worth a visit.

The grounds of the Sherman Library are stunning. The library is huge within its scope of expertise, and the Cafe is wonderful. Not much for kids to do - the koi pond and the touch garden are fun - but this place will bring out the hidden gardener in everyone.

Sherman Library & Gardens is minutes away from Fashion Island. Not only are the gardens a blissful retreat, but they house an enormous collection of information within the Library where one can find historic data related to Orange County, Los Angeles County and additional records of Southern California. The gardens are an easy access escape into a beautiful, well kept... More

A bit of heaven nestled in and around an old Spanish Adobe, on the Pacific Coast Hwy. in beautiful, upscale Corona del Mar. Flowers, manicured outdoor gardens, indoor rainforest exotics and rare plants make for enchanting wandering to refresh the soul. Koi and turtle ponds interest children and adults alike. A very modest entrance charge offers quiet serenity amidst a... More

Lovely botanical garden bursting with color! Meticulously groomed. For a plant lover, a real treat. Set in an old adobe, with a nice little gift shop, and a cafe (Cafe Jardin) that offers light fare for lunch only weekdays. A quiet refuge from the surrounding hustle and bustle. Convenient parking lot on side street off of Pacific Coast Highway.
