I have grown up in Chico and often forget how fortunate I am to have Bidwell Park on my doorstep. It is an amazingly beautiful place that I enjoy with my husband. We bike and talk through the park and it melts our stressors away! I drive along the edge of the park each day to and from work so... More

The wonderful park is the place to go year round-walk, ride a bike, roller blade, run, swim in the One Mile or Five Mile-and admire the fall colors. The canopy of trees protects you from the rain as you listen to the roar of Chico Creek filling up. It is truly the show place of Chico,

Bidwell Park is the essence of Chico. It is an extensive park full of nature and activities for all the family. You need to live it to understand its majesty. No words are enough to express the feeling of pure nature, calmness, and beauty. The park has several areas and each area has its own personality. Highly recommended.

Whether it is walking with friends in lower park, or hiking and mountain biking and swimming in upper park. Lots of things to see and do for free!

Bidwel Park is in the center of the city and has a wise range of landscapes to view and experience. Walk or bike lower and upper park and cool off in the creek.

Loved the paid tour. We were previously unaware of the Bidwell's contributions to California and Chico history.

Chico's Bidwell Park is simply spectacular. Lush expanses of green grassy meadow, lots of hiking and jogging trails, a golf course and GREAT views of the valley (if you hike up high enough). This park is bustling with activity. Not too far from downtown and worth the drive.

Old oaks, miles of pathways, large open grassy spaces, classic "swimming hole" type of pool along the river...no wonder this place continues to be a hub of activity for generations from Chico. If you absolutely can't take time for a stroll on the grounds, at least drive around it so you can appreciate the size of the park and enjoy... More

There is nothing I dislike about the park...except the no drinking rule, although I don't drink at all. But, I understand why that law is in place..people get drunk and act foolish...and, well, drown! lol. But Bidwell Park is what drew my family to this place over 60 years ago, and it is a very strong runner for the most... More

We visited Bidwell Park which was nice, but not at the peak of its beauty during the winter. Wanted to hike or bike through the park, but it was raining hard (thankful for the rain!). So, we decided to drive through the north end of the park, but the gates were closed. We did enjoy the nature center. Staff was... More
