Beautiful park with swimming, fishing, hiking, group areas, and play equipment. A very large park that starts in downtown Chico and goes out into the country. There are also horse and mountain bike trails.

The park go's from a flat oak trees with a creek flowing though the middle of a strip of heaven. The park fallows the Chico creek up into the hills of a canyon with beautiful rock formations, with a trail running alone the rim. The lower park one can drive a car, but the higher you go the road might... More

I love this Park. There are always activities going on and beautiful things to see no matter what time of year. One Mile has a pool that was created from part of the river. Upper Park has a small pond where the wildlife likes to gather and great hiking trails. There is so much to discover in this park, you... More

Whether you're a runner, a walker, or meditative, this is the perfect place for all. There a picnic tables stationed throughout the park . There is a sweet creek running right down the middle. It has paved road, dirt paths, and big beautiful trees.

Visiting my brother and his wife in Chico, we decided to have a little picnic in the park. I love Chico because of all its trees and alamedas, especially Esplanade (IMHO: not the correct name for this lovely tree-shaded boulevard). We only visited 1 mile, up to Sycamore Pool, which was like something out of a dream--a huge, non-chlorinated swimming... More

Bidwell Park is the 3rd largest city park in the country - it's huge and has something for everyone; kids' playground, swimming holes, mountain biking, golf course, hiking, fabulous vistas and a swimming pool. It's close to Chico State and within walking distance to downtown Chico (if you're in good shape)! Also free parking in several different lots and free entrance.

What a lovely park, there is something for everyone. Good hiking or walking trails which are very scenic. People were riding bikes and skateboarding. Plenty of places for picnics, great man-made free swimming pool with life-guards, lots of swimming holes along the trails. There were many people walking dogs, children playing, nice family environment! We enjoyed the great flowers and... More
