Huge, varied in terrain, vegetation, and activities, close in and far out (man), this is the number one attraction in Chico. Without Bidwell Park, Chico would still be nice but not outstanding. The park makes it outstanding. Great for families and people of all ages, the park is well used even in inclement weather. It's wonderful to have a place... More

We lived in Chico for a few years and this park was the hardest thing to leave. So beautiful! When we lived here we would take the kids swimming and every weekend ride our bikes all through the park. Having no bikes we walked the park for hours. The park is the 4th largest in the Country. If you have... More

The largest municipal park in the country, Bidwell Park in Chico, California has something for everyone. Caper Acres offers a world of up-to-date play equipment for younger children. Playing fields of all sorts accommodate organized leagues and pick-up games. Barbeque grills and picnic tables alongside the creek create ideal locations for families or friends to enjoy nature and each other... More

Miles of Park through the center of town with a creek, swimming holes, walking, hiking, running, biking, picnic areas, playgrounds, baseball field, fishing, amphitheater and more. "Shakespeare In The Park" each summer and a year round nature center. .This is a wonderful gift hat this university town has to offer.

16 miles of city park and then more was added on. I believe this is the 3rd largest city park in the nation. Lots of swimming, hiking, frisbee golfing, and even a beautiful golf course in the middle section. Donated by the founders of Chico, this park must remain undeveloped in the upper half. Just not glass, please....

This is a huge park that gives a lot to Chico residents and visitors. There is a river fed swimming area that has a few life guards. It's natural water fed and there's no cost to the public. I don't think it is chlorinated either. The variety of trees are impressive as the original founder collected many species.

The park is divided in two sections, lower and upper Park. Enjoy a bike ride, run or walk in lower park within the city of Chico. Then find a picnic spot by the creek or enjoy a swim at one-mile. Upper park goes into the foothills along the same creek. Great nature walks are easy thanks to the well kept... More

This wonderful city park was actually used for a 1930's era Robin Hood movie; it is wooded like Nottingham Forest, or so one could be led to believe. It IS a beautiful park with a creek running from East to West creating the core of the park territory extending right into almost the central part of Chico's business district. Bidwell... More
