What was mostly interesting was the list of animal and bird sightings. Two mountain lion ones listed within months of each other. Wouldn't have known.

A spectacular park with lots of trails through the woods near the stream. Both paved trails and ones on dirt for runners. Upper park has hikes through varied terrain, with some very interesting places to visit along the stream toward the top.

Bidwell Park is a world class beauty with its meandering creek, gorgeous flowers and trees whose leaves in the fall spread across the color spectrum. Wild-life such as deer, squirrels, birds of all types, raccoons, and feral cats abound.. One Mile from the Bidwell Mansion, home of the founder of Chico and donator of the park, is a cooling"swimming hole"... More

I have taken my children there several times and we have all enjoyed the experience. I plan on taking my grandkids as well.

Over the past few years a number of homeless encampments have developed in the more heavily wooded areas resulting in both safety and sanitation problems.
