Well there is lots of sand and water they have showers and bathrooms picnic barbecue areas I dont like the oil rigs and the high price to pitch a tent and most visitors are Californians though there are a lot of people from other places. There is a brewery very close which has great beer

I like the beach, the restaurants are not exceptional, the town is claustrophobic, but the beach has parking. Close to the train tracks.

previous reviews have mentioned this is a dirty campsite but I didn't find that at all. We pitched our tent in San Miguel and could see the ocean from there. I didn't use the showers but all looked cleaned and perfectly adequate. Shops and restaurants were about a 20min walk from our site, found a good thai place for dinner,... More

We have visited Carpinteria before but never spent time at the beach. It is very clean and you can take a long walk and enjoy the scenery.Even though it got more crowded Saturday afternoon, you could still enjoy it without feeling like there were too many people. At one area above the beach was a state campground. There were people fishing and kids... I travel with my little dog - everywhere. Always looking for dog friendly spots and the beach here has a whole section where people can let their dogs off the leash and let them play. It's a joy to watch them romping and running. My little girl LOVED it!

Peaceful, not too crowded, easy safe beach for the kids. Lots of clean sand and a great place to walk.

Walking on the beach is great at sunset. One can get lost on the expanse and most people have gone by sunset.

The location is amazing, beach front and easy to get to. We often forget when camping in prime real-estate that you are right next to your neighbor, reach out and touch them. Most camp sites are very close to each other, there are a few that give you some ample elbow room. The bathroom need serious updating. This is a... More

A long flat sandy beach, tide pools at low tide, historic Tar Pits, and, if you follow the cliff trail, you will have excellent views of the harbo seal sanctuary. Pelicans, dolphins and island views add to my favorite stop along 101. Access the trails from free parking lots at the preserve or in town.
