great small town beach with shopping and dinning within walking distance. There is state beach camping but book early, I have heard it books up to a year in advance. We do get fog in the summer sometimes but it is still nice and warm and most of the time clears up by the afternoon

It's what you are looking for. Long beach, sun and the breeze. Watch for the parking close to the beach. We've got stooped by the police, but ended up good.

Carpinteria is one of my most loved beaches. It is close enough to my home in la to take a weekend vacation and it is so fun. Nice water, warm, amazing waves, and a fun floating dock out in the ocean to jump off. It is great and I have been coming here rinse I was a kid. Some of... More

Have visited, camped, and just walked through this park for more than 30 years. The location is hard to beat with beautiful oceanfront sites, many on the edge of the beach itself. Yet it's only minutes walk from beautiful quaint downtown Carp. The cliffs at the east end give it some place to walk or ride bikes with a little... More

Spent 5 days at this beach,(it's my 4th-5th visit here). This beach is clean, there are bathrooms and it's definitely family oriented. The waves here are never overwhelming, not for me anyway, and i don't like high waves. You can walk out quite far with no drops in the ocean. You will likely see many seals for sure, and some... Beautiful Beach especially during Sunrise and Sunset. Loved to see all the Gray Seals on the Shoreline.

Beautiful place to see a Pacific Sunset! The beach is wide and has sites for camping. Alot of parking, so no problem there.

Nice, quiet beach. Ideal for sunbathing and enjoying the California weather. More than enough parking and accessible to most. Volleyball courts, park equipment for children and a walking path (under repair) are available.

Large beach with some tar pits. Some tar on the beach if you looked for it. Enjoyed checking out the sea anemones during the low tide. Beautiful sunset.
