This is a beautiful park with eventual views of the ocean once you are up high enough. You can access the park by calling or emailing the Parks District. They give you the gate key. To see Palo Corona Regional Park, one must apply for a park permit to go hiking there. Once received, one can hike. The number of people who hike in this area are limited each day. (Note: One can find out more on their web site.) As such, it is a park one must plan ahead to see. We got a... More

one of the newsest additions to the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park systems with splendid trails and heights that offer magnificent views of the Pacific ocean

Wonderful views of Carmel and the surrounding areas of Carmel Highlands. The walk is a slow rising road to the top. You will see views of Carmel Valley that only can be seen from this angle. Just off Hiway 1 in Carmel. Close to Point Lobos State Park.

You must get a permit online for this park, but a visit is worth it. So is a hike to the top - an ascent of 650 or 800 feet depending on what you read. It is a fairly constant climb, but the paths are wide, packed dirt. If you have bad knees, bring hiking poles. The view from the... More
