You can drive this road too. It's gorgeous. Start from Ocean Ave. Need to drive this road slowly as it has a very sharp turn but what a view of the ocean.

First, the cypress trees are amazing. The walkway winds around Carmel beach, which is gorgeous, but equally as incredible are the houses along the roadway and throughout the area. They are so unique, like wandering through a gingerbread village. The waves crash at the shore in different spots. A haven for photographers! I ended each day of my visit to... More

It is just above the beach but there are stairways if you want to walk along the beach. the most interesting beautiful... More

It can be really tough to find parking around here. If you do find it, you don't want to give up your spot to see further down the way. So... bring bikes. Park once and use your bike to travel all along the water way. On a bike you can sometimes move faster than cars waiting for parking spots. But... More

The winding pathway around ancient cypress trees overlooking Carmel's mile long beach to the curling waves of the Pacific Ocean is an experience like none other. If it's the sand you want, meander down a stairway to the ocean's edge. Whether windy and foggy or sunny and warm, the walk is invigorating and beautiful.

On one side of the road are some of the most interesting houses you will see up close and on the other side of the road are views that are hard to find without hiking for hours! It's a great road to meet people or take your dog for a walk or even cycle with ease. It's my favorite stroll/ride... More

Really a nice walk along the coast and within a nice neighborhood. Lots of pretty yards on one side and the rocky shore on the other. It starts at a great beach and ends at another, depending on which direction you choose. It is nice to end up at Carmel Beach and then continue thru town. As always, parking is... More

We do this walk from Ocean Avenue to Carmel River Beach every day when we stay in Carmel and of course never get tired of it. The beauty is really beyond words. On one of the days this year the air was so clear that the water color was many magnificent shades of blue even more blue than I remembered.... More
