Dead sea was an amazing sight. Water was very cold when we walked on the beach a little. Some areas had very pretty sights with seagulls on the side!

Words cannot begin to describe the beauty of this area from the sandy beaches, the stately Monterey pines, the luxurious homes with their unique architecture and landscaping, and amazing sunsets. The area is a photographer's delight. Parking is hard to come by, but just keeping driving up and down until a spot opens up. Then get out and walk! I... More

This beach is UH-MAZING!!! I would have NEVER thought Carmel would be that beautiful! So I've noticed when coming here that Carmel river beach is really three beaches. There's the north part off of Scenic Road in the main part of town and there's the southern beach accessible directly from the highway. There's also a middle section of the beach... More

We entered the 17 Mile Drive from Carmel. Drove the entire loop then double-backed to Spanish Bay to enjoy a spiced coffee by the firepit at Spanish Bay, in perfect timing to catch the closing of the course with bagpipes ringing. I was a spectacular way to spend about 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

This stunning drive along the coast of Carmel is great to do especially during the week. Avoid the weekends when the traffic is bumper to bumper. Many beautiful homes to view.

The Scenic Road Walkway is not the 17-Mile Drive, but rather a continuation alongside Carmel-by-the-Sea, bordering the beach and then surrounding the beautiful houses of the south area of Carmel, a rocky area with nice views of the ocean.

If you are staying in Carmel this is a fantastic walk for leisure or exercise! Stunning scenery! If your driving in avoid the weekend! Very crowded and parking is limited.

My wife and I drove down from Santa Cruz to check out the sights in the Monterey Peninsula and this was the first stop. We arrived about 10 o'clock on a Sunday morning and there were already lots of people about. We had read somewhere that parking was a problem and that was an understatement. We lucked out and found... More

I could look at the houses in Carmel for hours on end and of course the ocean is equally mesmerizing. Both can be enjoyed from the Scenic Road Walkway!

This is a public walkway along Scenic Road in Carmel. It has many benches to sit and view the ocean and a couple of places where you can go down to the ocean. Sunsets are beautiful here. This is a must do attraction when you're in Carmel.
