This walk meanders among beautiful homes along the coast with a fine sand beaches and large rocks with crashing waves. We never found a real walkway but followed the road for over 3 miles then walked back into the village. Gorgeous

We stayed close to the walk and it is an excellent way to get your exercise while on vacation. The homes are lovely to look at and the ocean and sea air are invigorating.

Have walked this for many years and always find the view fascinating. The different colors of the water as the light changes! Fabulous sunsets. Waves crashing against the rocks! Amazingly beautiful homes! What's not to like?!

Taking the coastal drive on the 1 and through Big Sur is a must. Stop and have lunch or dinner at Nepenthe Restaurant, beautiful view of the land, mountain and ocean. See the trail and waterfall at Julia Pheiffer Park. Just stop and enjoy the beauty.

A truly scenic place to take your morning or evening stroll. Have visited Carmel many times over the years and we love to take our walks here. Bathroom facilities are at beach area.

The Scenic Rd walkway starts at Carmel Beach and follows the coastine to Carmel River Beach and then back to town. If you like walking, you'll love this walk. I always go on the Scenic Rd walk or drive each time I visit Carmel. I recommend seniors drive, as it's a long walk for most people. Note: Carmel River Beach... More

We parked close to Ocean and walked about 1 1/2 miles along the beach, watching beachgoers and their dogs. Little wind and a cloudless sky. October is probably the best time to visit Carmel. We finally got some exercise after all the good food.

The walkway along Scenic Drive in Carmel-by-the-Sea provides an indescribable experience with vistas around every corner, gingerbread houses that look like a wonderland, accented by the Pacific Ocean, Monterey Pine trees and a long, sandy beach. To get there, take Ocean Ave. off of Hwy 1, driving towards the ocean all the way through town, until you reach the very... More
