We saw that this road would take us from Carmel to our rental in Pacific Grove - we were not aware of the $9.75 fee until we reached the gate. Decided to pay this rather than go all the way back through Carmel and to the highway. Road signs very difficult to read (vertical instead of horizontal)- kept getting off... More

Get up early because the road becomes quite crowded. We had a lovely drive and stopped and saw seals and enjoyed views of the coastline. I was a bit surprised we had to pay to drive on this road - but I guess it is just part of the experience. I far preferred Point Lobos - so if you are... More

A beautiful drive but on the day we went it was very busy. Stop at Pebble Beach ( the famous golf course) and have brunch at The Lodge - good value and great service from Huey. The crime brûlée ran out and when he knew I had been wanting one he had a really big one with fruit all over... More

It will give you a good overview of the area. But go there before you go to Point Lobos, if you are planning to visit both. After seeing the park, the drive on 17 mile will not be as interesting...

We had been on this drive several times years ago, but are always amazed at the beauty of this drive. Beautiful golf courses, beautiful homes!

Great drive through beautiful landscape and golf course. Went in at Carmel gate and would suggest only doing half the drive along the coast. The rest was not as dramatic.

I come to this area several times a year and am always amazed at how truly beautiful this side of the Coast is. I have a convertible and every time I'm in the area I love to take this drive. Enjoy!

This is a must see at least once. Note that your ticket may be redeemable for food and drink at establishments inside the 17 mi bounds! Most of the merchants would like your business - just ask to be sure.

This is well worth the time and money IMO. The waterfront is amazing, with dramatic wave breaking over the rocks. The water colors you get here are amazing. The seals are very loud, and I highly recommend using the telescope (50 cents) if you don't have a good binocular.
