We were driving to Carmel from SFO and decided to take the scenic detour of a part of the 17 mile drive. Turns out you pay $10!!! So we decided to do a little extra and really most of the views are blocked because they are private homes with high hedges or walls. Completely understandable that folks want their privacy...... If you want to experience an area as beautiful as any in the world, take a leisurely drive on Seventeen Mile Drive. The small price charged at the entry gate is well worth the heavenly views. Gorgeous homes along the way, the lone cypress, ocean vistas and of course stop in to Pebble Beach Resort for a drink or something... More

I enjoyed the drive mainly because we saw seals! We were told it cost $3, but it was really $10. We had already spent $30 that day for parking at other things so I was annoyed to pay again. The views did not knock-our-socks-off because we had seen so many gorgeous sights on rt1. But we got to see some... More

This is a very nice ride once you are in the area of Carmel or Monterey and the sky is clear. Nice views of ocean & coast, nearby houses & golf courses and of course several special places like Pebble Beach, Ghost tree, Lone Cypress,... There is $10 entry fee (unless you tell them you are meeting your Realtor to... More

Ok so everyone says you need to see this.. It costs $10.00 to enter and it goes in a circle with the exit roads to Monterey NOT clearly marked. It is just $10.00 but if you do it once, you won't need to do it again.

We frequent the area from our home in Sonoma County. Every few years we do this lovely drive. The vintage estates, Pebble Beach and the ocean views make this an experience to remember.

I was pleasantly surprised the shoreline was really well marked and had some really wonderful views of the California coastline. I would recommend going in at carmel to pacific grove or vice versa that is where the best stops are worth the entry fee

It's a road - a kinda long twisty drive so you have to like that sort of thing. It's stupid to have to pay - so my tip is to Bicycle so it's free or stop at spanish bay and credit that payment towards an overpriced drink.

Take your time while you travel Seventeen Mile Drive. You'll pass by world famous Pebble Beach and the iconic Lone Cypress tree. Be sure and stop at some point for photos, this area being another beautiful spot along California's Coast. We sometimes stop for lunch or refreshments at one of the golf course food/bar areas.
