Thought it was a church when I first saw it...Lovely! Have been there twice..Recently saw Shirley McClaine (great show)..Large theatre, but very good seating..Entry is large enough so that you don't feel like cattle. More

Saw Shirley Maclaine's show there and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why they had the house lights on so bright the entire time. Surely (no pun intended) Shirley didn't ask for it to be that way. Maybe she did. But was very uncomfortable to me. Thought the theater was great. Staff friendly. What's not to like... More

Went to a performance of Selected Shorts (NPR), and was struck by the architecture of this historic theater (saved through renovation). Sat in the balcony but could clearly see, hear, and enjoy the performance. After living on the San Mateo Peninsula growing up, I knew Sunset was located nearby. So, at age 59, I finally went there. We have heard Cleo Laine, John Cleese, chamber music and the Presevation Hall Jazz Band here. It is beautiful, excellent accoustics, and comfortalble seating. Get on their mailing list. More
