Good cheese friendly shopkeeper

A wide selection of cheese, knowledgeable shopkeeper, good selection of wine and all the things that make both of these things perfect

Awesome shop, nice, and helpful staff, great selection of cheeses. Would go to Carmel just to visit this place. Wine selection was good, but expensive, Iike most places in Carmel, nice selection of olives too.

I would live here if they offered beds. Great cheese, great bread, super friendly, non-pretentious cheese loving employees.

I stopped in The Cheese Shop while in Carmel before Christmas. I was overwhelmed at the number of cheeses on hand. With the help of a courteous and helpful Tessa, I tasted several of the cheeses before purchasing a couple to take with me. I also bought two bottles of wine and flatbread to complement the cheeses. If you are... More

Great cheese shop with fantastic service. Sample all you want, then take as much of your favorites home as you want. Good local wine selection also.

Growing up in the Midwest, I absolutely love cheese and am very grateful to have stumbled upon the best cheese shop ever!!! The best part about the cheese shop is it's free unlimited cheese tasting. I usually spend at least an hour here trying cheese and almost always buying at least $20-30 in cheese. They have cheese from all around... More

Admittedly, I love cheese. So, from that perspective, my review might be biased! We live just 4 blocks from the Carmel Plaza, where you will find the Cheese Shop on the lower level, right next to the Wrath Wine Tasting Room. Slip into this narrow shop and you'll immediately see hundreds of different kinds of cheese, along with tons of... More

This small shop was a delicious surprise! We sampled many unique cheeses and Neil was patient with all of our questions! We left with 5 kinds! A must see if you like cheese!

Best place around to get cheese and they also have excellent wines. Or you can just go in to sample tons of different amazing cheeses but doubtful you will be able to resist buying a few different kinds. When looking to put together a cheese plate for a party or even just a wine and cheese night at home this... More

We stopped in this morning to get some picnic goods to take on a hike this afternoon. The owner helped us. He is super knowledgable. We tasted many cheeses. He also had bread, salami, olives & dried cheeses that we purchased. He ships anywhere and will put a gift basket together for you. I highly recommend this place!!!
