Most recently I switched up my "Cycle": Steam - Slowly walk into the Cold Pool (on the left) and sit for 20-25 seconds with my head above the water. Upon exiting the Cold Pool I will stand outside for a solid minute to get all my blood flowing again. Dry off and then enter the steam room for a second... More

Found a brochure in a hotel many month ago to give it a try. My friends mentioned it was awesome experience. One of the best experiences ever I ever had. Touted as the ultimate relaxation. Large spacious facility with steam, relaxation, and sauna rooms. Hot and cold pools. As most brochures detail the experience well. The steam eucalyptus room is... More

This place was just amazing. Absolutely beautiful surroundings, great service and just perfect! I'm getting a little emotional now thinking back to how amazing this place is. I went twice in 5 days and loved every second. First visit I pre-booked a massage and it was one of the best I have ever had. The second visit I brought my... More

My daughter and I did a mother/daughter retreat in Monterrey area. We hiked a strenuous but incredible hike in Garrapata State Park and then came to the Refuge for spa and massage. The experience was wonderful. My massage was just OK but my daughter said hers was really good. We would go back again! There were lots of couples, friends,... More

You are in total silence (no electronics allowed). You go between eucalyptic steam room, to cold pool, to fire pits, Zero gravity chairs, to hot tubs. You can spend as long as you like there, totally relaxing. There are multiple "stations" so you have privacy and arent running into people. Schedule a massage for after if you really want to... Went here this past Easter Sunday. Boyfriend and I had a massage to start, very relaxing and then spent almost 4 hours relaxing and enjoying the spa. It is defiantly a great place to relax. Make sure you have a light snack before going as no food or is allowed in. Only a bottle of water.

This is the second time I've been to Refuge and both times it has not failed to impress me. Both times the masseuses were excellent (I like firm massages and both provided great relief for me). The cost of using the facility is not expensive and if you get a massage, they provide towels, a robe and locks for locker... More

The experience would of been 10 stars, but there was too much chatter going on. Actually was very dissatisfied because of lack of respect for silence.
