They have series of steps to follow for maximum relaxation: eucalyptus steam room, zero-gravity chairs in a meditative space, fire pits, and the hot tubs themselves. The combination of air, fire and water elements feels satisfying. What I didn't expect, though, is that the water is heavily chlorinated, so with the jets and waterfall features in the tubs you end... More

I throughly enjoyed our visit to Refuge. Beautiful surroundings and quiet space. For the most bang for the buck, get a spa treatment which includes the entrance fee plus a robe. We massages - mine was one of the best I've had. My friend wasn't as thrilled with hers. They maintain the spa as a quiet place so leave your... More

The massage was worth it! We both had massages, mine was a great deep tissue one, hers was not so. If you are going to get a deep tissue massage, make sure that the masseuse or masseur can dish it out. Otherwise, it seems timid.

Been there for all day and don't want to leave . Very relaxing place. Don't forget to eat before. No food or drinks beside water allow.

This place is amazing. They truly thought of everything to make this a relaxing atmosphere. I have never felt so peaceful and rejuvenated. The only thing I wish I would have brought was sunscreen and a book.

Great place to relax, unwind and detox. We went in the afternoon and there were less than a dozen other guests. Eucalyptus steam room was intense but effective. Great way to spend the afternoon.

This was my 5th visit, twice on my own for massages and three times with friends. I recommend being there after dark to truly appreciate sitting by the fire pits in the night sky. And I would highly recommend both massage therapists that I had: Shirley and Robin were each excellent. My only recommendation is that the massages be 75min... More

Second time here. I do not do cold water or even cool so I do not use it to it's full advantage but for me actually it is totally relaxing. I love the warm and hot pools. Great for joints. The second massage was better then first. Elaina was great. They have eucalyptus, dry and wet saunas! Love the quiet... More

Checked out this place based on a friend's recommendation. Had never been to a hot springs spa & I was also a little intimidated by the fact that this spa was in Carmel. It turned out to be a great experience. The attendant was very helpful in explaining the spa experience (there is a certain process to utilize the pools)... More
