Been 3 or 4 times...enjoyed all. Basically you can spend as long as you like but after 2.5 hours or so you get the point and if you're not totally gelled by then you've got other problems. Fortunately, I've been there when it's not too crowded which I'd guess takes away from the experience. The eucalyptus wet sauna is probably... More

Mrs. H. and I were staying Carmel for a few days, so decided to book massages at Refuge for an afternoon. Totally worth it! Make sure you do the pre-massage routine, which consists of taking a steam or Sauna, then a plunge in a cold pool them warm and repeat. Makes your treatment that much more relaxing.

100% relaxation. you can stay as long as you want. Atleast 3 to 3 hrs for sure. No problem if its sunny or cloudy and any time of day is awesome to visit this place.

Preferred the sauna room over the steam room. Various hot pools and your choice of Arctic or river cold pool. Various fire pits to relax but it was very chilly so we tended to stay more in the sauna to relax. Towels and water are provided. You have to pay for a robe. And for women, bring you hair dryer... Love this place. So relaxing! The steam room is amazing, plunge pools and hot and warm Jacuzzis. Such a nice place to unwind. Wish I brought a book but everything was great!

A co-worker recommended this place and I'm oh so glad she did. This was just what we needed to end our trip to the jazz festival. It was our 1st visit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The thermo cycles were fun, chilling and interesting. We really enjoyed the quiet rooms. We will be back for sure. Great way... More

We enjoyed our visit here so much. From entering reception we were looked after each step of the way. Every part of the experience was well thought out, attention to detail carefully considered. Very much recommend following the path they lay out for you, from steam to cold plunge to hot pool the gravity chair relaxation rooms (OMGosh)... I could totally have the order wrong... Whatever it is, just follow it! You'll have a pleasant endorphin rush guaranteed...

The variety of pool temperatures, sauna and steam room relaxed my body and allowed for my body to heal for up coming training sessions
