My husband and I had a very busy weekend with company at our house for Valentine's Day weekend, so we booked massages on the evening of Monday, February 16th (President's Day). When I called to book the lady identified herself as the owner and was very professional over the phone. She took the info she needed and gave me the... More

Who knew? Refuge great in the rain. No time around the fires but lots of time in the hot jacuzzi and inside on the zero gravity lounges. Also less patrons so had the place nearly to ourselves.

First time there. Can't wait to go back. Beautiful idelic setting.Steam room Finish sauna. Pools: hot, warm, cool, and cold. Multiple fire pits. Zero-gravity chairs. Get hot. Cool off. Relax. Repeat as desired. All done in silence. Stay hydrated with the provided filtered water. No electronics. No kids. A wonderful way to spend 3-4 hours to relax the body, mind... More

My husband and I have been to Refuge a number of times, both together and with his parents. Each time has been consistently great. This is a wonderful adult-only spa for couples, friends or solo. Allow a few hours to enjoy a few circuits through the various thermal pools, cold plunge pools, steam room, sauna and zero gravity chairs. In... More

It's definitely worth going here for a few hours of pampering. It's a gorgeous place were you can relax outdoors in the thermal pools, steam rooms, and saunas. It's a better deal to have a massage as you get access to the amenities (otherwise, it's $40+ just to get in). The massage was pretty good. Bring a book to sit... More

My husband and I had massages and then experienced the circuit of hot tubs, cold plunges, relaxation rooms and fire pits. We loved the idea and the place was very nice and in a beautiful area in Carmel Valley. They have a silence policy that I think could be loosened slightly to allow low voices in part of the outside... More

I love this place and wish I lived close by. It's a small, quiet and focused spa where you spend time doing a "circuit" from the steam room to pools of various temperatures. If you're having a massage (which I highly recommend) they recommend getting there an hour early and doing three circuits. I am a highly stressed person with... More

I traveled along way specifically to visit the Refuge. It was incorporated in a large golf and tennis resort. Although small, it was nicely laid out. But things just weren't right. It was supposed to be a silent facility, yet there were people visiting so that I had to keep switching pools. The relaxation room was too chilly to relax... More

Great experience as always at the Refuge. Enjoyed an excellent massage and loads of time in the various pools. Clean, safe and oh so relaxing, just wish they didnt have an issue with me listening to my ipod with headphones on. Could be worse, love the sounds of flowing water and chirping birds.
