Carmel Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in CA. Carmel Beach is located South of the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course and 17 Mile Drive, in the quaint artist town of Carmel. The beach is lined with large Cypress Trees and bright white sand. The beach is dog and family friendly, making this one of the most visited... More

Like most of Carmel, the city's beach is dog-friendly, so much so that dogs are allowed to run off-leash. In return, their owners do a very good job of picking up after them. This is truly one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, a wide swath of fine sand, great for walking, running, picnicking or building sand castles.... More

We lucked out with dry warm weather in late November. The beach is long, white and clean. The people were as warm as the weather and the dogs are all well behaved. It's a winner!

We were so disappointed in Carmel. The guide book described it as a quaint little artist's colony in an old fishing villages. I expected battered old cottages, tiny artist-owned shops with contemporary, fresh, affordable art. I expected simple bohemian cafes serving health food, maybe cobbled streets, perhaps a jetty holding back brightly painted fishing boats. Kind of like St Ives... More

A quieter place to walk, swim in the lagoon with kids. Find shells on the beach. Watch whales play. Enjoy the beauty and nature of birds and wildlife. View of Point Lobos State Reserve nearby. Bring a lunch, your dog and have fun in a quieter beach from the busy Carmel stretch with people and dogs.

I've been up and down the coast with my dogs over the years and nothing comes close to this beach for having fun with your dogs. It's bounded by rocks on each end of the very spacious beach so they don't end up going too far off. The views (even if you don't have dogs) are absolutely spectacular and the... More

This beach is a short drive from Carmel Village. If you walk there- remember it's downhill from the Village, and hence uphill when you're walking back.... Car parking is available, but at busy times it can be difficult to find a space. The scenery is beautiful, and the white sands are pristine and inviting. Well worth a visit.

I take my dog here quite frequently. The one thing I love about this beach is that you do not have to have your dog on a leash which is really nice so you will see a bunch of other dogs running around and enjoying their freedom for once.
