Really terrific beach with pretty flat sands and not crowded outside of tourist season. Tough parking and crowded during tourist season. It's best to park up the hill and walk down.

Beautiful and a must see if in Carmel. Take a walk down Ocean Avenue and take your time coming back the little bit uphill walk.

I haven't seen a beach which you are entering walking a big sand dune downhill. I mean like 50ft high dune. Anyway, it is a nice beach with very fine sand. And sunset is amazing...

This beach is iconic in every way. Old school Hollywood meets swanky hipsters yet we had a blast being able to be greeted by the large amounts of dogs that were with their owners. It was clean and wonderful, but busy with morning locals to get their walk in before the tourists invaded.

The sand is soft in your toes, there are lots of off leash dogs, so I go to get my dog fix and I love the fire pits and lack of rules/enforcement about alcohol on the beach.

Soft sand, dog friendly, with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Just beautiful. This is my favorite beach that I have seen in Northern California.

Aside from it's beauty it is dog friendly, we have had bonfires on this beach, and the sand is like powder!

My husband and watched the sunset at Carmel Beach, played and wrote our name and date in the beautiful white sand. It was absolutely beautiful. The sunset was romantic and spectacular. A must see and do. Next time we go back to Carmel Beach we will hang out at night and enjoy a fire pit.

Beach at Carmel is a lovely white soft sand area. Lots of walkers and great place for photos. Through the years there has been a viewing platform added and it looks like new restrooms are being constructed.
