It's so big that you don't feel crowded. You can't swim in it though. The sand is so soft and the temps were just right. We did need a hoodie at times with the wind.

Scenery, white sands, surf, easily enjoyed from sidewalk, sand, even from a parked car. This beach never disappoints, but on a sunny day, it is close to heaven and the surrounding neighborhood isn't bad either! Lucky residents.

A walk to the Carmel white sand beach is one of the best things about any visit..and its free. Bring you dog, bring your child or just walk alone along the beautiful pounding surf. You can see the Peblle beach Golf Course in the distance, and the homes that face this view every day...but it is all yours for that... More

We visited this area, passing through and just loved the views and setting. The houses along the beach front are really interesting for their quirky style and the beaches looked great. While we didn't swim it looked like a great family destination for a day as well !

The first night we arrived, we strolled down to the beach. We were greeted by a school of dolphin cavorting not 20 yards off shore. Amazing. And a great big wide white sand beach to stroll on. Not too busy even at the height of summer. Fun!

This is a vast expanse of white sand beach, backed by some fabulous properties. After people watching for a while leave the beach parking at the bottom of Ocean & drive south along Scenic Road, which will take you first past Carmel Beach and then past the Walker Residence, built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1948. The houses along this... More

This is probably my favorite beach in California. The water was beautiful and the vie was pretty amazing. It looked so much cleaner and so pristine than the rest of he beaches. It was almost as nice as Caribbean beaches. Th sand was smooth and seemed almost a lighter beige than the rest of the state's beaches. It was very... More

It was nice to go and wiggle our toes in the water, although it was VERY cold. We are used to east coast beaches, where the water is a bit more inviting. However, we enjoyed the picturesque views and serenity of the beach. A welcome change after driving down through the main thoroughfare of Carmel. Parking was surprisingly easy to... More
