One of the most beautiful beach you will ever visit. It is not crowded in the Winter and makes for some great photos.

One of the best beaches in Santa Cruz region. Lots of trails to spend time walking around. Silky white sand. Walk a little south and there are rocky parts of the beach. Kids will definitely enjoy the place. Could get very chilly at times.

Unleashed dogs are welcome on beautiful Carmel beach -- it's a pretty steep sand slope from the parking lot to the beach itself, but if you can do it, it's a wonderful place to walk and all the other dogs we encountered were well-behaved, their owners friendly.

The beach at Carmel is ruggedly handsome and a beauty to behold. Easily accessible with adequate parking for those that must drive the entry now has a new viewing platform for those that want the view without getting sand in their shoes. Great walks for dogs and humans alike towards the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course links with great rocks... More

This is a good beach for a morning run or just a walk to take in the air. Easy to park and we found it safe as the are always people about even before first light. A good place for a picnik with friends.

City beach is close enough to Carmel that you can walk there from the town. There were plenty of surfers as well as kids playing on the beach and at the shoreline. The waves were very large so caution is advised. There were tons of people walking dogs, as well as others just enjoying the day. The waves at River... More

This beach is near the town and simply gorgeous--clean white sand, beautiful color of water (turquoise), and dog friendly (no leashes!). I'd love to live there and walk on the beach everyday and you see surfers, families, dog parents and others. By far the best dog friendly beach in CA and a gem in and of itself!

Most people come to carmel for the food and the shopping. I agree, that is the main reason to stop here. If you happen to be here late in the day, follow the main road to the very bottom of the hill where you will find the Carmel City Beach. Pick a spot on the sand to sit and watch... More

The Carmel Beach is so beautiful and well maintained. So easy to walk down from town and enjoy a stroll in the sand. My favorite activity is watching all the happy dogs! Great views of Pebble Beach and the best sunset view!
