Best time to visit Carmel on weekdays and when there are no special events taking place. Unless you are there for an event of course. We are foodies and there are many restaurant choices for all tastes. Carmel by the Sea is a very hilly and you have to drive around alot to find a parking spot. The shops and... More

If you're a dog lover, this is the beach for you to visit when you're in town! If you can stand a little bit Of washed up seaweed it's well worth the visit. Time standstill as you listen to the surf and watch the dogs play in and out of the tide line. When's the last time you had so... More

The beach is only about half a mile (sand areas) long... but its beautiful. The water is a nice blue l and the scenary is perfect. I love that the sand is not very fine so it doesn't get all in your clothes. Instead its like tiny pebbles. The beach is pretty quiet with the exception of my 3 kids...... More

This is such a beautiful beach with white fine sand that are 100% dog friendly (legal off leash too!). Our dog loved it there, and she didn't want to leave when the sun was setting. Just beware that there are some international tourists (especially from Asia), that are not custom to seeing people keep dog as pets. let alone seeing... More

If you go to California, you must visit the quaint, laidback, peaceful City of Carmel. It is so wonderfully difference and distinct compared to the logjam environments of Southern California

Wonderful clean beach full of friendly locals and tourists. Lots of dogs but all dog owners seem very responsible (read: clean up after their pets) and friendly. Wonderful that Carmel is so dog friendly. Even if you don't own a dog like me.

A large and long beach, with a lot of dogs, a lot of waves, and not that many people. We buy sandwiches in a store and ate on the beach. It was a nice moment.

We were surprised at how spacious it seemed. There are lots of dogs off-leash. Great to watch the surfers. Parking can be a problem. The sand is fine, white, and clean.

One of the nicest beaches I have ever been on. If only we could of stayed longer, but was stopping off for a quick break before returning to drive down to LA. Would highly recommend, even if it's a stop off, beautiful beach that you will not be disappointed in.
