Shopping in the village is a little expensive and tends toward conservative design. The Barnyard had a few nice options for shopping and dining and a large parking lot. It is a relatively small center, but was still charming and had some more affordable options.

This place wasn't what I expected with the Barnyard name. We came here to stop at the bakery. There were a few shops but we didn't see anything we wanted to check out, so we got our pastries and left.

home of many fine stores and restaurants in a rustic setting away from the usual tourist areas of downtown Carmel

I suppose there are some fine shops here, but this place feels a little worn out and sad. I wouldn't exactly come here to hang out.

If you are in the vacinity of this spot, stopping in is fun and there are cute little shops, but it's not worth a special trip. If you are staying at Carmel Mission Inn, The Made By Scratch restaurant is a good choice for breakfast, if you can find it tucked back behind the pizza place.

Once we figured out how to get into the parking lot, we really enjoyed exploring this multi-level center. Very unique architecture with many surprises around every corner. A combination of high-end shops and fun restaurants await you. Everything surrounds the lovely garden with trees and great sculptures to enjoy. Very relaxing - a real joy !!!

It's six years since I was LSAT the barnyard and it's got a little tired round the edges. A couple of empty units tell you that the complex on the other side of the road is having an effect. That said the design of the place works well with good shops and eating areas. Flannegans Pub is a must for... More

We had an ''awesome'' sandwich,at a place, called Erik's Deli cafe. They offer quite a few sandwiches,as well as soup, salad, and beverages. We felt that the price, was good, for the delicious sandwiches that we ordered. We liked it,that we didn't have to wait long,to get our order. We went and sat down,at a table...and they brought our order to us,in a matter of minutes..and with a friendly... If you like hunting for shops, this is the place to go. Unique antique shops, a delicious chocolate shop, bagel bakery, and a handful of second chance shops.

I was a little afraid that in this location the Barnyard would not have survived the recession. It does not have the buzz it once had but there are still a number of good speciality shops here! Hang on in there...things can only get better!
