I highly recommend this tour. The tour lasted almost an hour and a half and we tasted a half dozen wines - all free. There was no tasting fee. I don't know if they changed their policy or if Sunday was different. The tour guide was friendly and informative - we even got to pick a grape off the vine... more

The owners of Chateau Julien know what they are doing. A great, well informed tour, coupled by the Ferrari Event was more than my senses could handle. A must visit in Carmel and you have to try their "Black Nova" wine, develoved by their longtime winemaker, Bill Anderson. more

I got to personally meet Patty Brower and she is the most approachable person I have ever met. The facility is spotless and the gardens are beautiful, not to mention the wines were fantastic and very affordable for a top tier winery. They made my stay in Carmel a memorable one! more

My parents were visiting and I was looking forward to taking them to Chateau Julien because I had driven by many times. When we arrived we weren't greeted for at least 3 minutes. It felt as if we were bothering the woman who did the wine tasting. She had such a memorized speech for each wine and was rushing us... more

There was a big banner up that sates We are Hospitality. They did not acknowledge guests and I still do not know about this winery. They charge a tastibg fee. Had to beg to buy a bottle of their wine. Too many other wineries out there to waste your time here. more

The chateau building is where the tasting is performed. There is also a separate aging room/building where tours are given. The grounds are large, the winery hosts many corporate events. The tasting is NOT free, at least not the day we visited and the tasting fee is not waived if a purchase is made. Never the less, the wines are... more

I went on a tour with a young lady named Carrie. She was polite and extremely knowledgable. This is a small, family-run winery. Awesome! more

My wife and I visited Chateau Julien on February 21. The tour was extremely interesting. I learned an awful lot about the wine making business. I was amazed at all of the intracacies of wine making and grape growing. The young lady who gave us the tour (I didn't get her name) was not only extremely knowledgeable, but very warm... more

My wife and I had a great time at Chateau Julien. Patty Brower, who owns the winery with her husband, gave us a fantastic tour of the winery, with wine tastings along the way. The winery looks like a French Chateau and the Chai, where the wines are aged in barrels, is awesome. The winery is not a residential neighborhood... more
