This winery doesn't grow the grapes, but the two-medal winner at the 2000 Orange County Fair makes an excellent red wine, and its Zinfandel is a big seller.

Witch Creek Winery is a comfortable place to stop and taste. No stuck-up wines or staff here - homey atmosphere with one-of-a-kind wines.

We were on our first day of vacation in Carlsbad and thought we'd hit a winery on our way to the grocery store. First thing I noticed was the fabulous mural on the exterior wall. We went inside and bought a pair of 6 wine tastings for $10. We went with all reds. We enjoyed all of them, particularly the... More

We bought an Urban winery Passport and have been working our way through wineries and tasting rooms we'd never have found on our own. This location is much nicer than their sister tasting room in Julian. It has a great location, very friendly staff and some really excellent wines. I can't speak to the white wines as we are red... We stopped in here with a person who is a member of their club, so we got free tastings (that was a nice bonus). They were serving a nice variety - starting with a sparkler (delicious!), and then on to white wines, and some excellent reds. Definitely worth a stop if you're a wine lover.

Witch Creek Winery has been in business in Carlsbad for years now. We always enjoy a stop for tasting when in the area. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Try their sweet wines. I took home two bottles to have with a cheese platter for a happy hour soon!

I decided to be a tourist in my own backyard and try out this wine tasting room before heading down to the beach to soak up some rays. For $10 you get to taste from six different bottles. I tried the white varieties and the ciders. The Savignon Blanc was like sour water. I also tried a couple others in... More

Sadly, I am writing my first negative review. We were visiting Southern California for a special occasion and only for a few days. Overall, the trip was amazingly perfect. The only dark spot was our visit to Witch Creek Winery. I work in the wine industry in the Pacific Northwest. I LOVE wine of all kinds so it was high... More

Came in with my father and husband, paid $7 for 5 tastings. It says winery but this is only a tasting room, a small one at that. The wine was a huge let down, didn't like any of them. Some were just like syrup. The staff was not very informative of their products and didn't really talk to us. They... More

Stopped in for a wine tasting on our trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending local places. The reds were quite good and we took home a bottle of a Spanish red for the holidays. Very popular that night and it was clear why.
