The thing you don't see in the pictures? The giant smoke stack literally a block away from the beach. It's huge, and one can't help but wonder why it's so close to the beach. We have been to Carsbad beach a few times, and always had a great time. The only downfall, was parking. If you are not lucky enough to snag a parking space on the street, you have to pay in a parking lot, which can be as much as $10.00 for the day. Have family with you is not only good... More

Nice, not overcrowded. Love to go to Carlsbad over Oceanside Beach when I visit my son who stationed at Pendleton. More

We packed a beach blanket and picnic and headed to the beach for the day. Was a busy day at the beach, but we had a nice spot in the sand. We watched the surfers and walked the beach and promenade. Parking was limited, but worth the trip. More

Not getting to the beach much, it was really nice. But the beach seemed dirty. Lot of sea weed washed up on shore that attracted fly's, dirty looking sand, I think Carlsbad township could invest some cleanup dollars here. More

The beach is across the street from the hotel. It's clean and great for swimming. The resort has beach chairs, umbrellas, etc to use while at the beach. Also a great place for walking. More
