Great clean beach. Super surf, wonderful sand, great for sports (volleyball, etc.) Super area to walk, run, and exercise. Beautiful sunsets, friendly people. Well policed. Grassy areas, paved paths, cycling lanes, lifeguards during high season, some wonderful cliffs and dunes. Just do it.

This was a nice place to stop off with the kids. They played in the sand, and even though it was too cold to swim (there were a few brave souls swimming) it was an enjoyable time. The squirrels were a little aggressive (stole the doggie bag we had brought with us) but we had fun.

It is another good beach north of downtown San Diego about a 45 minute drive. Do go here if in Carlsbad

It is a beautiful beach but has a kind of steep bank getting down to it. Great for hiking or running.

Miles and miles of sand. Concerned about the contamination from local power plant though.... piping black smelly liquid waste for its lagoon into the beach where everyone was swimming, claiming it was just to add sand. Geezesh! The ocean was lovey to watch and listen. to though...

Easy access, you may have a bit of a hard time finding parking depending on time of year, but we were able to street park right by the stairs leading down to the public beach. Water is typical Pacific cold, but we and the kids still played in the surf. Not as expansive as nearby Mission/Pacific beach, but not crowded... More

The beach was slightly slanted and you have to be careful of the tides and the sea wall. Nothing I disliked. It was fun.

This is a great stretch of beach with gentle waves and nice clean sand. Take stairs down from the street above. There are rest rooms available as well.
