The beach wasn't too crowded. LOTS of seaweed on this beach. And when that dries up, it's hard to walk on. But it was still a nice beach for the day.

Parked on Beech near Magee Park and walked down stairs to free public access beach. On three different occasions it was never crowded. Beautiful peaceful beach though one day the surf was rough. No lifeguards so be advised. Great for boogie boarding.

The beach was small, had tons of rocks in the sand leading up to the beach. It was good enough for my toddlers, but, developed beaches are better.

We were staying in Ranch Santa Fe and wanted a beach time. We have stayed on the coast but with the marine layer we learned to stay inland a bit and plan beach time when/if the clouds move on out. The beach was as one might expect. The sand was ok but I saw no trash baskets so some slobs... More

Nice walk on the life guarded beach. Close to restaurants, and many beach shoppes, hotels, etc. Clean, bring your own chairs, umbrellas, food and enjoy your day.

Wonderful waves, clean beach. Pay parking which is ok. We brought a cooler with snacks and drinks for the kids which was necessary since we were there for 2+ hours. Everyone got a bit of sunburn even after applying SPF50.

Recently spent a day on Carlsbad beach near the Palomar Airport exit (Ponto area.) There was a free parking lot (very small and it fills up super early!) available on Carlsbad Blvd. as well as parking spots along Carlsbad Blvd itself. There was beach access at the Ponto parking lot and there was a lifeguard on duty (one) in the... More

This was day 3 of our Legoland vacation. After 2 days at the theme-park, my kiddos, 3 and 5, needed to veg. So did my husband and I, and this was just what we needed. The kids loved it. It figures. The one thing that we didn't have to pay for, they liked the best. There are bathrooms on-site. They... More

Great place to catch a sunset, or watch the surfers. I only had a short time there so I didn't have a chance to get in the water. Watching the sun set was the perfect alternative.
