Beautiful, well maintained 4 mile long "state park". Great for sunbathing even in cooler temperatures. Great for walking and watching.

moderate sandy area, low level surf. good parking in a state monitored lot at the south end. public bathroom there as well. Lifeguard towers manned during the busy summer days, empty otherwise. minimal restaurants in walking distance except Robertos just south of the parking lot. Camping grounds just to the north (hard to get spots unless you are really quick... More

Nicely maintained state beach, public restrooms & sprinkle stations to remove your sand! No dogs allowed on the beach - a definite plus! For avid walkers who dislike the beach sand, there is a walkway above.

Carlsbad State Beach was recently rated in the top 25 of state beaches by Trip Advisor and I wholeheartedly agree. The beach is about a 1/2 mile long and runs from Pine Avenue to Tamarack. You can access the beach between these two streets by using stairs that are located at several points. The beach is great for swimming, surfing... More

We walked along the beach, took photos, and then watched the sunset. My daughter enjoyed petting many of the dogs that went by.

We walked from Carlsbad Village Drive to Cannon Road and back and took a little over one hour if you walk the top and cross over the bridge. Very pleasant walk . Their our plenty of shops and eating places . Lot of... More

This is a nice beach with soft sand. The street level walks with seating were nice for those that don't want to get their toes in the sand. The steps to the beach & concrete walkways were well taken care of. It was fun watching the surfers catch a wave. Sunsets were stunning.

My husband and I spent the afternoon here after grabbing lunch in Carlsbad Village, it was just one block away. We grabbed a few beers at the liquor store on the way and relaxed on the beach. It's a nice clean beach, seems very popular but definitely not too crowded. We easily found a spot to lay out and had... More

This is a great beach for tourists and locals. The beach is pretty and the boardwalk is great for walking and people watching. The Armenian Cafe is also nearby and a must for a wonderful breakfast outside.
