Paddle all day!

We've been coming to the Carlsbad Lagoon for a long time and we love the standup paddle boards. We've taken wakeboarding lessons here too. Great instructors and friendly staff.

Celebrated my daughters 19th birthday with the family at the Carlsbad Lagoon. Decided to do the activities at the Lagoon verses going to Sea World. November 1st turned out to be a GREAT weather day! The temperature for this day was excellent and the wind was minimal. The crowds at the Lagoon were not that bad. A few dozen people... More

Great little lagoon just to the east of I-5 in Carlsbad, California. This ocean-fed lagoon is open to public use and there is a water sports office located right on the edge of the bay. Moving farther to the east, you'll see lots of stand-up-paddlers (SUP's) and people enjoying the white sandy beaches on each side of the lagoon.

Decided to go with my daughter to try stand up paddle boarding at the lagoon. We had a coupon from Living Social for a 2 hr rental. I've never done this before, and also don't swim very well at all. Told the rental company and they said no problem, and suited me up with a serious life jacket. They gave... More

Not much different from when I lived there 40 years ago right above it and saw it every week. No river but it is fun smooth skiing in the early mornings when the breeze is down.

Rented a peddle boat. Relaxing and fun looking at the cool houses located on the lagoon. There's a small store of items and clothing. If I was 30 years younger, it would be a really fun place to hang out. Staff very nice and friendly.

This is a beautiful Lagoon located in Carlsbad, CALIFORNIA. There are many beautiful areas here to enjoy yourself on the water also their are water sports to enjoy. Their is a fee for the water sports but don't let that bother you come and enjoy.

Most people go here to launch boats for wake boarding. It is small but easy to use. I have gone SU paddle boarding in the back channels. they go on for miles. very very nice. You need a permit though if they are checking the day you go. You need to launch paddle board from Bayshore Drive a little east... More

We had a great time hanging out at Carlsbad Lagoon. We rented kayaks for 2 hours and the rates were reasonable. The staff is young but very professional, organized and nice. Nice to see young people who have a good work ethic.
