What a wonderful train trip from San Diego to Carlsbad. With our group of 7, including 3 kids (2,4,& 6) we had as much fun riding the Coaster as visiting Legoland!

Easiest way to get from Carlsbad to San Diego and back. No traffic jams and good prices on day passes.

We stayed in Carlsbad and rode the Coaster to San Diego three times. The train was clean, on time and very comfortable each time! The train staff was quite friendly and helpful, too.

This was a great way to see the coastline from Oceanside to San Diego. Most of the stops are located near downtown locations or neat shopping/eating districts. The only thing that was a challenge is that it does not run as frequently as I would have liked but it still offered something different to do.

We stayed on the bay in San Diego. We took the light rail to the main train station to catch the Coaster. Can't beat the cost to see the area. You could just ride to a town along the way and then come back the same day after taking in the sights. We went to Legoland. Seats were comfortable and... More

The Coaster was a great way to travel between downtown San Diego and Carlsbad on our vacation. It cost $5.25 each way and eliminated the need for a rental car. You can catch the shuttle to the train outside of the airport baggage claim. No need for a entail car.

If you don't like driving in unfamiliar places, the coaster is a inexpensive way to get around. It will take you to Santa Fe, Old Town San Diego, and some beautiful beaches. If for no other reason, take it for the views.

So easy for an airport trip, just be sure to have a backup for the trip home if your flight is delayed.

If you are going to see Old Town or the harbor area (Midway), this is for and away the best way to go. You have a pleasant prompt ride and no parking hassles at a reasonable cost. For Seniors (62+) the round trip fare from Carlsbad was only $5.50. If you are traveling from Carlsbad, I recommend the Poinsettia Station... More
