This is a wonderful state park. Its just south of Santa Cruz and has a nice beach area. Its up on the bluff with nice scenic overviews. The camping area and picnic areas are nice. We have spent many days enjoying this delightful state park. Lots of trees in the park so you can get away from the ocean and... More

Walking distance from Monarch Inn, just to the south. Miles long. Walk long enough to see the Cement Boat. Local landmark.

Enjoyed walking the beach from Brighton down to the boardwalk. Weather was perfect and so many people were enjoying the beautiful day. Liked that dogs are allowed on the beach.

This used to be one of our favorite spots to camp, but in the past few years the State Park system has managed trash the place. We spent a couple of hours walking the beach, our dog enjoyed the waves and running around. It wasn't crowded, the weather was perfect for a beach picnic. The views are wonderful and we even saw a whale. What a great day!

Great place near Sta Cruz that is not as crowded and the water is much calmer. We were lucky to have a long display of humpbacks slapping their tails that day, very nice. We were close enough to drive at the end of the day to Santa Cruz to take the kids to the Boardwalk park. There was a sign... More

We used to go camping here every year until about 18 years ago. Life just got too busy. But the kids who are now all grown, wanted to return, and so 7 calendar months in advance I got on the reservation line and promptly booked 2 sites for September. It was totally worth it. September is usually beautiful on the... More

Nice camping ( if you reserve towards the back of the park ) bathrooms and showers are all close by. Quite a hike up and down to the beach , but nice once you get there. Very windy, so bring a kite!!!
