I have been coming to this beach since the 90s. If you want to learn how to surf or play at the beach this is the place. It isn't overly packed with people and there are enough eateries and shops around to make the day go by. It is much cleaner then Santa Cruz and parking isn't hard to find... More

I didn't do any of the learning to surf part but watched the adorable lifeguard camp for little ones. I know if we lived out there we'd want to enroll our kids! Beach is nice, just probably gets pretty crowded at times. I also went walking out in the morning and when I turned around realized the tide was coming... More

I'm reviewing Capitola Village, where Margaritaville and the beach are. The whole area is nice. There's the beach, bars, restaurants (Thai food, pizza, burgers, etc.), a neat bridge, lots of little stores, an ice cream parlor, coffee shops, etc. I first visited Capitola Village in 1992, when I was a soldier stationed at Fort Ord. Since then, I've been here... More

We had a great time on the beach here in Capitola. It is the off season, but that didn't stop the locals from getting out and being friendly. Large amounts of seagulls sun themselves so be wary, they will approach with a vengeance if they see you eating anything. Clean and pleasant, and best of all not packed.

Like most beach towns, parking is a drag, but if you're patient you can usually find something close. There is a large pay lot if you don't mind walking a little and there are a couple smaller lots beachfront that usually fill up fast. The beach itself is clean as far as California beaches go. You can't do anything about... More

Great beach in the Northern California area. Very nice, clean, and relaxing. Take your towel and get some sun.

Capitola and the beach is worth to go! Much nicer compared to Santa Cruz. Strolling around the beach and the streets close to the beach is just nice!

Great beach for people watching. Lot of benches just of the beach on the sidewalk. Can be crowded in the summer, but close to perfect this time of year. Very clean (except when all the driftwood comes in after a storm. They usually leave it and folks create all kinds of sculptures on the beach. Showers and restrooms close by.

Easy access and fun boogie boarding for the kids. Had a nice time walking around town. The first night we were there they had an amazing fireworks display on the beach!

Beautiful scenery, friendly people, surfers for entertainment and just a nice breath of fresh air by the surf. Good view
