Capitola Beach is nice, not the greatest beach in the area, but nice. It could definitely use a bit of a clean up. We may have come on the wrong day or something, but there seemed to be a lot of trash on the beach. Parking can quite difficult and it can get crowded here, but the close proximity of... More

Capitola can be crowded in peak season but in off season it's a lovely place to visit. We had great weather and it wasn't too crowded. It was so nice to walk on the beach and the pier.

I have been coming to this beach since the 90s. If you want to learn how to surf or play at the beach this is the place. It isn't overly packed with people and there are enough eateries and shops around to make the day go by. It is much cleaner then Santa Cruz and parking isn't hard to find... More

I didn't do any of the learning to surf part but watched the adorable lifeguard camp for little ones. I know if we lived out there we'd want to enroll our kids! Beach is nice, just probably gets pretty crowded at times. I also went walking out in the morning and when I turned around realized the tide was coming... More

I'm reviewing Capitola Village, where Margaritaville and the beach are. The whole area is nice. There's the beach, bars, restaurants (Thai food, pizza, burgers, etc.), a neat bridge, lots of little stores, an ice cream parlor, coffee shops, etc. I first visited Capitola Village in 1992, when I was a soldier stationed at Fort Ord. Since then, I've been here... More

We had a great time on the beach here in Capitola. It is the off season, but that didn't stop the locals from getting out and being friendly. Large amounts of seagulls sun themselves so be wary, they will approach with a vengeance if they see you eating anything. Clean and pleasant, and best of all not packed.

Like most beach towns, parking is a drag, but if you're patient you can usually find something close. There is a large pay lot if you don't mind walking a little and there are a couple smaller lots beachfront that usually fill up fast. The beach itself is clean as far as California beaches go. You can't do anything about... More
