Traditionally believed to be the place where Jesus fed the multitudes with a few loaves and fishes, this is a tranquil and peaceful spot on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. We were not able to view the interior of the shrine, but the rocky shoreline and grounds were worth exploring. We did not see any artisans or food... More

Free is always good. I found the remains of an old synagogue to be very fascinating and enjoyed imagining St. Peter and Jesus walking on the very grounds. There is a wonderful view of the Sea of Galilee and you can look up to the mountain where Jesus most likely gave his talk on the beatitudes.

The church is also named as Church of Heptapegon (the Seven Springs) or Church of Bread and Fish (from biblical stories). It is located at Tabgha on the north-western side of the Sea of Galilee. This is a simple church but with some Tabgha mosaics inside which well described some of the biblical stories that we have heard.

The Church of Multiplication in Tabgha is traditionally believed to be where the miracle of the loaves and the fishes, or the feeding of 5,000 took place. According to tradition, Tabgha is believed to be the location along the shores of the lake where Jesus called Peter and Andrew to follow Him and become "fishers of men". We loved the... More

This Church is very important for Christians as it is here where the miracle of the multiplication took place many years ago. The architecture is not spectacular but there is a very interesting mosaic inside the Church. To get the full meaning of the site the you have to cast mind back to that very important happening and use the... More

It's hot. But the garden is lovely and the church is beautiful inside. The small-ish store is the main focus. It's pottery is amazing and very well priced. Done on site by priests and artisans. Very nice.

So how do they know that this is the spot where Jesus multiplied the fishes & bread? I am skeptical that this happened here & just think it's a rip off. In my opinion, it's really not worth the parking fee or the stop. There are better more interesting things to do in the area & I would not recommend... More

A picturesque church with a nice courtyard and pond, there is a small shop on site and ample parking. The mosaics on the floor are nice.

Very simple church with yard with an olive tree and colourful fish. Go inside and try to imagine Jesus' miracle. Enjoy the beautiful floor mosaic.

There is a rock in the center of this church where Jesus stood and blessed 5 loaves and 2 fishes to feed 5000 men and still there were crumbs left to fill 12 baskets.
