The Dzong is in ruins but it was worth the visit for me to get some clear glimpses of the peak of Jumolhari in the distance. Ruins - fire in the 1950s. Hope they do not "restore" it. Dramatically photogenic as it is. great views of valley as backdrop. More

On the day of our arrival we were taken to this ruined Dzong and had our first Bhutan experience which was great. Great views of the valley. Fascinating to be emerged in the spiritual history of this amazing country. "Our first dose of happiness"!! More

This dzong is perched on the crest of a hill above the Paro Chu. There is a delightful walk around the dzong rising gradually to the walls. It is a nice drive up the valley from Paro through small villages scattered along valley bottom with terraced fields to Drukgyel village.
