We visited Guachipelin in June of 2014, Costa Rica's "green season". For $120 we did horseback riding, zip lining, tubing, buffet lunch, water rappelling, mud bath and hot springs. The horseback riding is beginner friendly, however gentlemen beware of bumpy rides, (lift up your rear when the galloping begins:) The zip lining is AWESOME, (horizontal, vertical, tarzan swings and rock... We enjoyed every activity but you better be a bit fit to do them. This is not everyday activities or amusement park stuff where you can flip the switch and the rapids stop. People were dumped out of their tubes, some horses have minds of their own, and zip lining you have to pull yourself up on to the cable. Nobody... More

There are so many options for tours here. Im very happy we selected the one we did... horseback riding to Rincon de la Vieja national park and back, 2 hour tour in the national park, and swimming at a beautiful waterfall. All with our own guide Francisco. He was very knowledgeable sharing information about volcano, wildlife, birds, insects, plant and... More

we spent our last day in Costa Rica here. Our Economy Rental car contract included a buy one adventure day pass get one free, after 9 awesome days in Costa Rica we figured we would end our honeymoon with a adrenaline high. We visited on a Monday where the Rincon de la vieja park is closed, however when we explained... More

On this tour, which we arranged through where we were staying, we did horseback riding, white water tubing, zip lining, and then hiked out to the hot springs/mudbaths. Horseback riding, to me, was awful. It was soooo hot, the horses were exhausted, I felt uncomfortable and bad for my tiny horse the whole time I was on it. We went... More

So for this tour you will start with the zip-lining, which in my opinion sucked. I went zip-lining in San Luis and it way 10x better because Guachipelin was hot, not particularly nice to look at, and the harness was very uncomfortable. I recommend wearing longer pants for this portion. One thing that was unique about this zip-lining was that... More

We did the all day adventure tour that included the inner tubing, zip lines, horseback riding, lunch, and hot springs. I will review each separately. INNER TUBING - Loved it. It was a blast. Way more fun than white water rafting. You are on the river for about 50 minutes. There are rapids you blast through interspersed with quiet parts... More

We took the Horseback riding tour to the Sulphur Springs and the Río Negro. I'll start by saying we are fairly easy to please given the excursion we experience is what was advertised. Although we did go to the three locations mentioned (start at the Hacienda, proceed to sulpher springs, then continue on to the Rio Negro hot springs) the... More

We spent a day of our Costa Rican vacation here at Guachipelin, and it truly had something for every member of our family. We have 6 children, both boys and girls, ages 22 to 12 years. The zip line is not the best in Costa Rica; the rappelling and rock climbing not the best you'll find; and overall we could... More

We did the horseback riding to the waterfall and the whitewater innertube rides while staying at the Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. It was just my husband and I with the guide on horses that are well taken care of and trained. (I had a bad experience in Mexico so this really matters to me). My husband jumped into the water and...
