This was new stop for us on this trip. We made an appointment and sat out on the patio overlooking the vineyard. They are dog friendly, which our wiemi greatly appreciated. The reds were great but the surprise find was a white, called Gruner. We will definitely be back.

We loved the intimate and knowledgeable wine tasting that we had here thanks to Carrie! Their wines were absolutely wonderful and I especially liked the Gruner Veltliner while my husband loved their fabulous Malbec. I would highly recommend making a reservation to visit!

This smaller boutique winery has great wines on top of Diamond Mountain. Located just 10 minutes outside Callostoga this is worth the visit. They have Single Vineyard Cabs! Also Red Blend, Zin and Merlot. Special wine is their Port. We enjoyed the wine tasting so much we joined their wine club. We look forward to future visits and drinking the... More

I am a little late in getting this review posted, but I wanted to share our great experience at Von Strasser. It is required to have a reservation since the location of the winery is in an area that is also residential (so there is a limit on the volume of visitors to the wineries). We were in Napa on... von Strasser is basically a Cabernet house. The probably make more different vineyard Cabernet’s than anyone in the valley. John DeGregory met us and was our host. We had the choice of a tasting inside or outside on the patio. Since the weather was still a little nippy at 10:00 am, we elected the inside tasting. The only varietal we... More

Do yourself a favor - make a reservation at Von Strasser and taste seven of the very best cabernets on earth. The experience itself is typically hosted in their beautiful cave, seated with some of the friendliest, most helpful staff in the business. I just can't say enough good things about Von Strasser - this is one of my favorite... More

We've had Von Strasser wines before and have enjoyed them, but not on this tasting. We were tasting off vintages (not their current stuff they are mostly selling). It seemed like when the guy found out we weren't joining the club, he was about done. It was our least impressive tour of the trip. Reverie is just up the road... More

This is a great family owned property. They make very good Cabs on Diamond Mountain. Our "wine consultant" was fun, helpful, and not pushy at all. We drank in their wine cave, which is a nifty place, though fairly cool, so bring a jacket. If you like big Cabs, you will love Von Strasser.

The staff makes you feel like your their top priority and provide outstanding service. Knowledgable and passionate about their wine. The wine and chocolate pairing tasting in their cave was amazing. The cab's were yummy and the chocolate (Lille Belle Farms) made for a memorable visit!

This is the Mecca of Cabs from Diamond Mtn. The tasting included a white Austrian Gruner and several low production Cabs. Each Cab was unique and flavorful. Best Cabs in California. John was our host discussed the wines in detail. Very friendly and informative. Highly recommend visiting up Diamond Mtn. to this winery. If you love Cabs then this is... More
