We've had Von Strasser wines before and have enjoyed them, but not on this tasting. We were tasting off vintages (not their current stuff they are mostly selling). It seemed like when the guy found out we weren't joining the club, he was about done. It was our least impressive tour of the trip. Reverie is just up the road... More

This is a great family owned property. They make very good Cabs on Diamond Mountain. Our "wine consultant" was fun, helpful, and not pushy at all. We drank in their wine cave, which is a nifty place, though fairly cool, so bring a jacket. If you like big Cabs, you will love Von Strasser.

The staff makes you feel like your their top priority and provide outstanding service. Knowledgable and passionate about their wine. The wine and chocolate pairing tasting in their cave was amazing. The cab's were yummy and the chocolate (Lille Belle Farms) made for a memorable visit!

This is the Mecca of Cabs from Diamond Mtn. The tasting included a white Austrian Gruner and several low production Cabs. Each Cab was unique and flavorful. Best Cabs in California. John was our host discussed the wines in detail. Very friendly and informative. Highly recommend visiting up Diamond Mtn. to this winery. If you love Cabs then this is... More

Excellent wines. Tasting done in the cave storage area. We tried the wine and cheese tasting. Odor in the cave made tasting a little difficult but a pleasant experience. Tasting person seemed to rush us a bit, but had good knowledge of the wines.

We visited this winery in late June. The view up Diamond mountain was breathtaking. The wines were good with some outstanding reds. Also try their Gruner white wine for a treat. They also have a picnic area so stop and pick up items and bring your lunch with you.

We had heard great things about Von Strasser and it did not disappoint. Our host, John, met us in the reception area, poured us a glass of their unique white, and then walked us over the cave for our tasting. Our tasting was a seated tasting in the cave with candles - so pretty and relaxing! Von Strasser had great... More

We had a day of winery tours with Knight Wine Tours (reviewed separately and highly recommended). This was our first stop, and was a GREAT way to start the day. This winery is nestled in among some low hills and is quite picturesque, but the best part was the visit in their wine cave, where we had some fantastic wines... More
