We paid $35 a peice and visited Schramsberg Vineyard based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. It was one we could have skipped. The 'tour' was interesting enough, but not really a tour. There were twelve of us, which was by far the largest tour we went on. The tour seemed rehearsed and prepackaged, a way for the vineyard to... more
We visited Schramsberg in September and the tour was one of the best. Tom was great..he made the tour very interesting and explains the long process of sparkling wine with much enthusiasm. We got to try some expensive wines, one of which was served to the Queen! I will always remember Schramsberg when shopping for Sparkling wines! more
We had so much fun at Schamsberg. The tour was so much fun and it was really cool to see how sparkling wine is made. We went into the caves for a tasting. We tasted 4 sparkling wines and a reserve red wine. All of them were delicious and we tasted some very expensive wines. It was a great experience. more
I visited Schramsberg in April with two girlfriends. We did the 11:30 am cellar tour and it was amazing. This is the one tour that I personally “Had” to take and could not wait for. I have to say I was not disappointed. Our tour began as we made our way into the caves which were dug by the Chinese;... more
I was annoyed that they MAKE you take the tour (and you MUST have reservations). There is no option to just enjoy the tasting. $25 is a steep price for sample of four wines. The tour takes you "into the caves" - not too far into the caves. Basically you see two rooms. Then I understood. The tour is fascinating.... more
Really enjoyed it...it cost $25, but that includes sampling 4 of their sparkling wines. Great location too. more
Yes, Schramsberg requires appointments as a good half of wineries in Napa do. Yes, Schramsberg is expensive at $25 a person but well worth it. Schramsberg is best known for its sparkling wine served at the White House and other State functions since Nixon's adminstration. This unique hillside winery is also known for its very interesting network of underground caves... more
Six of us (three couples) spent two days in the Napa Valley. Schramsberg was on the list of things to see because one of the couples served Schramsberg to toast their commitment ceremony the year before. Our tour guide--perhaps a better term "our host--was Richard Gambatese. After a brief introduction to the success and history of the Schramsberg Winery and... more
First - you must have an appointment - this is not a public tasting vineyard. However, once you arrive, it is clear that you in for a treat - excellent products, knowledgable and helpful staff, and a beautiful vineyard retreat along the mountainside. Highly recommended. more
