This hidden gem was such a treat. I'd been to Calistoga many times but always missed this. I only became aware of the little sign when headed north. The caves were amazing and the history of the Schramsburg family was captivating. The best part of this tour--tasting generous pours of champagne in the heart of the caves lit by "Phantom... More

See what I did there with the title? We had a fun time at this "Vineyard". $60 per person tour starts with a brief history of the winery and its change of ownership and rise to the Whitehouse. We learned a bit about the methode champenoise utilized on these locally sourced grapes. My husband even took a turn at riddling.... More

Fascinating tour of the caves with millions of bottles of stacked champagne. We loved the history and information that was given on the tour. We tasted 4 different champagnes (2 of them retail at over $100) and the J Davies Cabernet, which was the best Cabernet I've ever had It was such a unique experience and it was our favorite... More

First time touring a Vineyard. Was such a wealth of history with this. Totally enjoyed the time spent learning about it and sampling the wines. Can't say enough about what a great time we had. Would recommend this to everyone.

The tour was interesting and our guide's enthusiasm for the wine was infectious. Lots of information about the traditional French method used to make the sparkling wine here and the caves are atmospheric and a great place for a tasting. The property is beautifully kept and the history of the estate and the wines makes for some extra special stories.... More

Cellar cave style tasting of exception sparkling wines. However the cab took the prize!!! Small group tasting in a very cool wine cave, however the wine host did not really share his knowledge. More concerned about talking to his friends about local events that any outsider would not understand. Would love to learn more.

Interesting tour in the caves, with the stacked champagne. Then sat comfortably in a private room tasting champagne and their new red.

I was familiar with the traditional method of making sparkling wines, but seeing the caves first dug out by Chinese laborers after they were finished with the transcontinental railroad really tied together some local history. This is a beautifully orchestrated tour with a generous wine tasting. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

A sparkling wine tasting and tour is such a different experience from the norm. At least our tour at Schramsberg Vineyards was! Our tour guide, Ilya, took us on a delightful educational look at how sparkling wines are created. She also treated us to a tasting right in the caves where over 3 million bottles of sparkling wines and champagnes... More
