This was our fourth winery to visit on our first day in Napa Valley. The tasting room was cozy and quaint. The wine was good. The service and attentiveness of our host was great. There was no over-the-top salemanship; it was simply pour and drink at our leisure all-the-while giving us a brief overview of what we were tasting.

Delicious wines worth far more than Laura and Michael charge. Quaint, small. simple, FRIENDLY and educational. Say hi to "Rocki" the greeter :-)

Went for the wine tasting at the recommendation of another winery, and so glad we did! We lied the wines so much that we joined the wine club! You can taste several "standard" (very good) wines or fewer premiunm wines...which we did....and we were "sold"!! The 2005 and 2001 cabs were amazing!

My family loves wineries that are off the beaten path, and we were lucky to discover this place a few years ago while on vacation. This is our favorite winery, and the only one that we make sure to visit every time we're in the area. All of the wines we've tried are incredible! The tasting experience is more personal... More

If you are in the Napa Valley area - a must stop is Zahtila Vineyards (also known as Laura Michael Wines). I have been going for a few years now after a recommendation from my sister and this fall I finally became a club member. Laura and Michael are great and the wines are fabulous - so all my family... Do not pass by this little Gem in Napa. This small property delivers great wine and a beautiful outdoor patio. The ultimate relaxation spot and the wines are very well made. I'm so glad we had some friends give us a heads up. It turned out to be one of the best spots we visited all weekend.

Great wines in a small, intimate setting. Friendly staff. Nice little patio. We liked the wines so much that we bought a case and joined their wine club!

Skip the generic Rose and the Cabs. Their Zens are very good. A porta potty is it for the bathroom. Really? If they aren't making enough money for a real bathroom, they should just close the doors. There are better zens in the area to be had, at less cost, but theirs are worth a try. They don't give credit... More

After touring elaborate castles and vast vineyards, we had time (and energy) for one more tasting. Staying in Calistoga, a local shopkeeper suggested Zahtila Vineyards. We met Michael in the tasting room and immediately felt like we were family. My daughter had just gotten a job at a nearby resort and was feeling anxious about being 3,000 miles from home.... More

that no one should miss! Greeted by Rockie the lab-collie mix that escorts you up to the tasting room where husband Mike comes in from the vinyard and talked to us for over an hour while he poured some of his amazing wines. What a great time learning and tasting. With an experience like this, I'd avoid big name pour-and-move-wineries... More
