We had a $5 off coupon (available on the Vineyard's website) and visited first thing in the morning. The tram ride up was fun, and the views from the winery were fabulous. The tour, which was self-guided, was less informative than others we went on; however, since the process of making wine is fairly similar from one vineyard to the... more

Plus points - reasonably kid friendly (aerial tram ride / self-paced tour); great views. Minus points - little information on self-paced tour; surly staff at the tasting room (threw a piece of paper down on the table with some wines highlighted on it, and offered zero information); overall not very good value for money; charged $10 for our 9-year old... more

I was not impressed with the wine here. Also I didn't like that they tour was self guided. I don't feel that I really got much out of it. The tram ride is over rated. There is a $5 off coupon I found on the website. Overall not bad but I didn't really enjoy it. I could have skipped it... more

You will not find a vineyard more beautiful, or with staff so willing to go above and beyond. This March, my boyfriend and I went to Sterling Vineyards for a day trip. My boyfriend had been there before and wanted to show me the gorgeous scenery. As it turned out, he proposed on the cable car ride up the hill,... more

I took my four under age 10 kids to Sterling Vineyards and they all had a good time. The cable car ride up the side of the mountain to the vineyard was a real hit. The wine tasting was very good and worth the admission price. The facilities on the walking tour were kind of boring as little action went... more

We booked the reserve tour, because we wanted to taste the reserve wine. We were the only ones on this tour, so it was very private. The Tour is the same tour you can take yourself. Our guide was VERY CHATTY. She told us more about her life than about the wine. When we got to the tasting room, we... more

Compared to other “high-end” wineries in Napa where you end up paying at least $20 for tiny sips of overrated wines, this one was a nice surprise. Indeed, $20 seems a good investment for a tram ride to the winery with a magnificent view from the top of the mountain. This also includes self guided winery tour and tastings for... more

A tram ride was a good addition to our trip in wine country. Some good photo opportunites of the cellar, steel barrels and view during the self tour but really nothing else. Unlike other wineries, you must pay to visit this winery so it's unlikely that I would visit again. more

We enjoyed ourselves and our visit to Sterling. The views were beautiful and we really liked the tastings. The self-tour was a little confusing in places and I really didn't learn all that much, the scenery, the tram ride and wines themselves made up for it. We went there on a Monday and had no lines at all anywhere, the... more
