Sterling is unique from the onset because you travel to the winery via aerial tram from the parking lot. Once you arrive at the winery, you receive a glass and your first pour. The tour is self-guided and the placards along the way are very informative. You get a total of 5 wine tastings and you get to keep the... More

The Sterling was the first winery we went to and was one of our best experience. The gondola ride provided us a nice view and a unique way to get to the winery. The price included the ride, wine glasses and tasting - based on some of our other winery visits this was very reasonable. The wines were very good... More

You begin by riding their aerial tram to the top. Self guided tours are available. Great views, but poor service at the top for a cheese and meat platter and a glass of wine. Don't know where the workers were . Didn't see anyone except the pouters during the entire tour. Good stop for average wines.

First of all, this is unlike any other vineyard! It's not wine tasting, it's an experience. This is supposedly the only vineyard with a tram. You park at the bottom of the hill and ride the tram service to the top. Welcome to wine tasting Disneyland. As you resume your self guided tour you come across the three wine tasting... More

The tram ride was nice and we loved the views but nothing great to write home about on the wine! We enjoyed the self guided tour but I the wine was just OK. Several of the staff were very nice but others were obviously summer help.

This winery was interesting because of the tram ride and views. It felt like a Disney ride. We did the silver your which allowed for a separate tasting. The waiter was nice but we felt rushed and just pushed through. There are many other wineries that have much better wine and not the fanfare.

We went for the slightly more expensive silver tour that included an air tram ride and extra tastings. We took the tram up the mountain and had beautiful views of the valley. Once we got to the top we were given a souvenir glass with our first tasting. The wine tour is self directed so you got to wander around... More

Travelling in wine country with children can be a challenge, but choosing the visit to the Sterling Vineyards was a great choice. We took the gondola up, and paid a little extra for the full wine tasting package. We really appreciated having the option of a meat and cheese platter to enjoy with the tasting. This was an important stop... More

We always love going up the cable car to the Sterling winery and looking out over the Napa Valley. The self-guided tour is fun and informative, and the wines you sample during the tour are very good. If you belong to the wine club, you get access to the members tasting room, where you can sample some more complex wines.... More
