We were very excited upon arrival at the grounds and views of the winery. The tram ride up offered more views. The first part of the tasting was average. Vague words about the wine and a chance to look at the spectacular views. The wine was average nothing special. After the last tasting we continued to Silver area for an... More

This place is like Disneyland for adults. Off a side road, you drive down a beautiful tree-lined driveway. You park and then the fun begins. Purchase your tickets and take a ride on the aerial tram to the top of the hill where Sterling Vineyards is located. The self-guided tour gets you five wine tastings, the most beautiful views of... Sterling Vineyards reminded me somewhat on an amusement park with entrance tickets, lots of people, a ride, queuing, a regimented route, a big souvenir shop with company branded products and televised information stations. The tasting boots were so busy that there was no time to take a photo before asked to move on. What the wine concerns the better varieties... More

Although the first impression upon entering this vineyard is that it is organized like a Disney style attraction, the modest entry fee per person more than justifies the wonderful, entertaining ride on the ski-lift type cars up to the top of the mountain. Once up there, you then went to different stations at different sides of the building with different... More

I was disappointed with the quality of the wines served. I tasted wine previously and was happy with the tasting, but not this time.

Went for the sky ride and fell in love with the wine. I'm afraid of heights and I still thought the ride was a awesome. Pricey (no military discounts here even though most other vineyards do) but definetly worth the trip. The tasting was like a little scavenger hunt around the building. So cool. The top patio was breathtaking. Just... More

Not only is Sterling Vineyards absolutely beautiful (designed after a Mykonos villa) their 'hook' to entice you is perfect. We opted for the Sterling Silver Experience Tasting...$39 (but their was an online special if you mention the ad for only $29.---look for it) First we took the gondola ride up the mountain side overlooking their gardens and vineyards. Their mode... More

Somewhat out of the way in comparison to the other wineries in the Napa valley. However rather than simply tasting wine, you actually get to tour the winery and take in the beautiful views atop the mountain the vineyard sits on, all the while tasting good wine. A truly "must do" while in Napa. Enjoy the tram, the gift shop,... More

My sis and law and I visited Napa Valley for the first time and it won't be our last. Sterling was definitely a highlight - the tram ride to the top, breathtaking views of Napa, tastings on its multi-levels, and self-guided tour of how wine is made ... Excellent experience!!
