Joe, owner of Overland Desert Excursions, provided us (Arlene, Sasha & Benjie Garcia and Thelma and me) a great adventure. The 104° weather was severe but it didn't stop us! We jumped into Joe's all-terrain military vehicle and first visited a box canyon that needed 4-wheel drive to even approach. It was carved into soft sandstone deposited by the Colorado... More

My nieces, my son and I had a fantastic time during our Sunset to Stars tour. Joe was a great guide. He was very friendly, informative and took great pictures. The meal at the end of our tour hit the spot.

For those of you that love to have tents set up for them, a fabulous dinner cooked, and a view of the stars with a knowledgeable astronomer and first class telescope, then this is for you. My girls and I did this and despite the 114 degree temps we all loved it - even the bumpy ride and having to... More

We had a 2.5 hour tour with Joe who was very nice and provided a very good and passionate description of the desert and the wild life. We would go back again with an overnight tour / camping they organize!.

Done the late afternoon 2 hour. Great scenery and very informative well prepared guide. A definite must do and we will be back for one of the longer or overnight adventures. Guide provided water and light snacks but the real treat is the overlook to the large canyon. My only regret is having to make the drive back to San... More

We had a great five hour tour of Anza Borrego including the dried lake bed, slot canyon and Font's Point this past weekend with California Overland Desert Excursions while we were visiting in Borrego Springs. Riding in the back of the truck was bumpy but fun, The hike in the canyon was easy and very enjoyable. Lunch was surprisingly good... More

We chose the 2.5 hour tour to badlands. Awesome time and beautiful scenery. Our 4 and 8 year old boys LOVED the truck ride and exploring caves. Our leader was very informative and made some great scenic stops along the way. Highly recommend!

Wanted to do something different for husband's 60th birthday and this fit the bill. We have visited Borrego many times but this adventure took us to places we had never seen before. Joe was the nicest guy and so full of knowledge. Jeep was very comfortable and provided a fun ride. We took the 2.5 hour private tour and Joe... More

Joe was very well informed about the past, and present geology. He brought us to places that we could never get to by our car by jeep. We had a nice picnic lunch at a oasis shaded by palm trees. We traversed "Mars" on a sandy road on the way to Fonts Point, an amazing site that is hard to... More

We did the 2 hour private jeep tour. Our driver/guide was Joe. I think he is owner or partner. Clark Dry lake and homestead and Font Point. He was knowledgeable on local flowers and general history. Jeep was old but in good repair. Rides like an army jeep. Interesting animals at Clark Homestead - antelope ground squirrel and quail. Nice... More
