Beautiful, old-growth redwoods along a river. Places to camp and picnic. In danger of being closed next year. See it while you can.

Great camping spot in the coolness of the redwoods. It is fully 15 degrees cooler here than in Philo or Boonville, two nearby friendly towns. There are several hikes within this park that take you past mind-blowing trees. It was sweltering the day we went; the dense shade of the forest was welcome and refreshing. Never visited the hermit's house; sounds interesting.

Bunks are full size, and guests would do well to bring air mattresses. Cabins are clean. Coin operated hot showers available. The reservation fee is quite reasonable-...

We had site 53 and I can tell you it was not good for a motorhome because it had a slope. Thankfully we had...
