There's a 1960s feel to the place, a bit like Pacifica but much smaller, quiet and away from the crowds. There's a great walk from town to the beach, and loops back around through a nice neighborhood to the Bolinas Main Street.

Gentle waves and surfers of all ages. This is a great place to learn. Parking is a challenge but people are coming and going all the time so patience helps. Don't be scared off by the cool reception of the locals. The beach and surf are worth it.

we happened by bolinas beach by accident, touring through the little town. we parked and walked down on the beach. a gem of a beach. so many seashells at the water's edge and also at the highest tide line. such an assortment of different types. the beach is protected from wind and is lovely to walk along.

We stayed at Smiley's and were able to take a short walk in either directin to get to the beach. It's a quaint little beach in a quaint little town. We were there during the week, so it was very qiet and not the least bit crowded.

I come to California all the time and have never heard of this town, until NY Times wrote up about it. Great coastal town with great beaches and nice local shops and a great little budge restaurant the Coast Cafe. Great BBQ! It is really worth a quick visit!

It was too cold to go in the water, but as a place for a view, it is first rate. We walked down a few times. We were sure we saw seals swimming below us at night.

Sun and surf, sand and shells - what's not to like? We took the young kids and all had fun in the shallow shore of rocks and sand... the surf was pounding in the distance, and the beach was fairly deserted, with occasional dog walkers and couples walking by... truly a fabulous refreshing renewal of the spirit.

After finding Stinson Beach too full to park at, we decided to go down the road to Bolinas Beach at the suggestion of a cousin. There is no sign off of Hwy 1, as if they don't want people to know about this place. I found it to be magical. Beautiful houses with gardens, lots of trees and ferns, cute... More

After reading negative reviews about the townsfolk in Bolinas, I expected rudeness, but didn't receive anything of the sort! Nice little town, welcoming locals. DELICIOUS street tacos from a truck parked in the parking lot by the Two Mile Surf Shop. Loved the beach - i have a thing for graffiti and there is a very long 'sea wall' there... More
