If you're tent camping, the campground is rough. There's almost no shade, zero privacy, and sites are about ten feet apart. That's probably why 90-percent of the sites were occupied by RV's during my visit last weekend.
Unfortunately I had a tent. On Friday night, the people next to me stayed up until 1:15 a.m. partying and talking in loud...

This is a great beach- we come here often as we live within an hour's drive. Walked it early this morning- beautiful and quiet. There is a County Parks entrance fee but we walked in so it's free
Great place to camp with the ocean right in front of you. Very pleasant Sonoma County employees that seem to really welcome your visit. Located close to some beautiful drives.
This park is very clean. Lots of bathrooms and you can walk on the sea side or visit the estuary on the other and bird watch. This is a great place to bring the kids or grandkids; they can run around to their hearts content. If you are an RV camper, their camps look very well run, clean and orderly.
Loved the ocean access and the bird sanctuary walking trails. There is a day fee but it is worth it for the access to the beach.
Great place for a walk along the beach, a picknic, or for camping. Although a tent looks as if it would be cold, in the summer I bet it would be perfect.
Visited in December, but live on the coast and understand that the best times to come are April - June and Sept - Nov.
One side is wild and rough open water the other side is calm and protected perfect for walking, bird watching. It is fairly open and can be quite windy, it is known to be one the...

I hate this place. Not a fan of Bodega Bay. Mostly foggy all the time. There is nothing much to search for out here if you are looking for seashells. Camped here and I was beyond bored. Alot better places to go.
Campground is on a sandy spit with water on both sides. Campground host sells firewood. Hot showers for a small fee. Great views, nice long beach, usually small waves safe for kids and dogs. Reservations needed most of the time. There is also a boat ramp and a dump station for RV's. Great day use area for non campers with...
