Attending a photo workshop, I needed some graduated neutral density filters, and in the small town of Bishop, this gallery had the essential tools for photographers. Galen Rowell's photographs are on display and for sale. It is well worth your time to visit and enjoy. A landscape photographers paradise!

My wife has always been a big fan of photographer Galen Rowell. She loved his photos that appeared in Nature Photography magazine. She was very sad when he and his wife died in a private plane crash. His photographic art lives on in his Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop, CA. It's a great place to wander around in and see... More

Be prepared to be blown away by stunning photography. Prices are high but fair, not outrageous. You get what you pay for and this is first quality stuff. The history Galen Rowell is on display and if you are not familiar with his work then you probably never read National Geographic, or Life magazine, etc. Galen and his wife were... More

I had passed thru here many times on my way to mammoth, but decided to make a stop here after a shortened ski day. This is definitely worth a stop for anybody that is into landscape photography or just the beauty of the eastern sierras. Along with showcasing many of his works other photographer's works are hosted.

Small, independent gallery of photographic art depicting the Sierra Nevada mountains as well as photographs of other locations the photographers visited. Many outstanding photographs, books and other materials available for purchase.

If you enjoy nature photography, this is a must stop for you. Started by Galen and Barbara Rowell, it showcases their photography, books and history. There are also exhibits by other photographers. I'm always inspired when I leave there.

Galen Rowell was a world-class photographer, based in Bishop. He died in a plane crash coming in to land in Bishop. His photography is on display. Iconic photos of the Eastern Sierra and mountains as far away as Nepal. A free trip to exotic locales!

The photography of Galen Rowell is world class and the gallery is a moving and fine tribute to his work. Other photographer's work is on display as are some fine art pieces and one of a kind jewelry by local artists. I have spent hours in this gallery on my many trips to Bishop. Not to be missed!

You do not have to go to the world renowned Getty museum in LA to see works of art. Here you can find a fantastic photographic library and timeline from an excellent guy and feel the time line of his life. He won the Amsel Adams award and died in a plane crash wife his wife and two friends when... More
