I enjoyed walking along the shore and watching the wildlife and people watching. The sunsets from the water level were great!

Went here multiple times and enjoyed each visit. The views of the bay are amazing, especially at sunset. It's a wonderful place for anyone of any age.

This park is perfect for those who love San Francisco Bay. Good place for views of the water and the sail boats. Can be windy and foggy.

Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for business, I hoped to find a nice place for a 45 minute walk. This little park completely exceeded my expectations! The footpath is in good shape (recently paved) and the bay views are spectacular. Very important to me was that I felt perfectly safe walking here as a lone lady, even at sundown.

This shoreline park was willed into existence by the work of dedicated volunteers, aided by their public officials and finally adopted by the Department of State parks and the East Bay Regional Park District. You can stroll, skate, bike, wind surf, parasail, or just drive on the outskirts of the park and see all of the magnificent shoreline of the East Bay and the unobstructed vistas of San Francisco, Alcatraz, Mount Tamalpias. The views are incredibly different depending where you go in the park and the park extends from the Oakland Bay Bridge north through Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany and into Richmond. You will feel that you have left the urban East Bay and ventured out into a shoreline more like that found on an island.

This is a different type of state park; its more a shore line park that extends 8.5 miles from Richmond to Oakland. It is favorite to visit for the views. Hikers, walkers, bikers, and others like to come here. For the Berkeley stretch there is scenic views of San Francisco from the park. We have come here several times.

In the Berkeley area its a good place for bird watching. It is also a favorite of fishermen who come out to the fishing dock. The fishing dock is also a good place to walk out for better views of San Francisco on a clear day.

In 2012 the park was renamed to McLaughlin State Park in honor of Save The Bay co-founder Sylvia McLaughlin.

The park is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is not a state park however for camping.

We returned to view San Francisco Bay. We saw it this time from the very large park by the marina called Eastshore State Park.

The McLaughlin Eastshore State Seashore is a great place to photograph the San Francisco skyline & the Golden Gate Bridge, especiall at sunset & at night. Make sure you use a sturdy tripod to shoot at night. It gets really windy.

There are a number of nice hikes here. My preferred one is along Cesar Chavez Park where you can see the kites.
