Went to the Greek Theater for the first time to see Death Cab For Cutie. Excellent sound with nice stone work architecture. Be prepared for a walk from any parking to the venue with a decent amount of stairs to climb. Don't be tricked into paying 50 to 60 dollars to park at the fraternity houses; there is a parking... This is a great stone amphitheatre with performances by top artists, along with graduations of all sorts in Berkeley. I personally thought the acoustics were better for single performers or small groups than raucous bands.

We have been to several events at the Greek Theater. The theater is in the hills of Berkeley. The events we have attended have ranged from graduation ceremonies to Big Game Rallies (Cal vs. Stanford) to musical events. As such, for us, its always a fun place to go. The theater is a nice size with good acoustics. As with... More

The Greek is built into a hillside and access from the upper parking lot is very steep. Try to park in a lot below the Greek, because you have to go to the bottom of the theater to enter, so the lower parking is closer and may not require oxygen!

Fantastic concert venues and location. It's comfortable and casual. But when night falls, the temperature drops off very quickly. Dress warm. layer and/or bring a blanket.

Classic tiered surround seating with good view of the stage. The grass area is very sloped. Recommend the concrete seating, bring a pad or blanket to sit on.

Took my teenager daughter to see Lorde in concert here recently. Parking was ok, we got there early and paid $20 to park in a nearby lot, which I was expecting. Stood in line for about an hour, then went in to the venue with a reasonable check from security. Daughter wanted to go in the pit, uh no Mom's... More

So many wonderful performers play here. I saw Placido Domingo. The sound was great and everything was easy to see. There are seat prices for everyone. It feels a little special listening to great music in the open air. Go!

We came here from Phx to see Dave Mathews on 8/24/14 based on what we heard about this place. It did not disappoint.i have seen close to 150 concerts and this place has the best sound and seating you can imagine. Everyone should experience at least 1 show here. You will be glad you did. They also have great food... More

The Greek Theater at UC Berkeley is legendary for good reason. The setting among the trees is beautiful, the acoustics are wonderful and the history of the place is remarkable. We knew about all those things. We did not know about the lack of parking near the venue. Most people are left to park quite far away in parking areas... More
