I have visited the rose garden many times. It is on a hillside. Its row after row of roses that is fun to explore. It has over 3000 rose bushes. It is best in the spring when roses are in bloom, but any time of year it is nice to visit. The sunsets from here are quite nice.

Nice way to spend some time, even if you're not a particular fan of roses. Watch your step though, it's in need of repairs here and there. Parking wasn't a problem but might be during peak hours. Free to enter and free to park.

Visitors who love roses should not miss this spectacular site with unparalleled vistas encompassing the entire Bay with Mount Tam and the City of San Francisco highlighted. There are additional perks as each variety of rose (and there are many) is given it's scientific and layman's name. In addition, tennis players have three courts and a backstop to play on... More

Been to many weddings her! Beautiful when the roses are in bloom. it is so lovely and relaxing to wander through the garden taking in the perfume and the view ( alone or with a loved on). A true Berkeley original.

The short walk to this Municipal Rose Garden was challenging, as it was mostly uphill from our B&B! It is worth the hard walk, the roses were so beautiful and extensive variety! The landscape around this rose garden is an amphitheater, with "layers"/steps on a sloping hill. We enjoyed the nice garden, but at this time, there is construction activities,... More

This is such a beautiful place right in the heart of Berkeley. So many beautiful roses. Just walk around and take in God's beauty. There are a few steps to climb but just pace yourself. The first time I went there it was earlier in the year and the flowers were a little less burnt out. Suggest you go late... More

Well cared for gardens traverse multiple levels. Many places to sit and relax. Such a beautiful place to sit and meditate or leisurely walk around and let your spirit drink in the sweet sights and sounds and smells of nature. So close yet you will feel worlds away from city life.

Whether you're partial to roses or not, you can't beat the views from the Berkeley Rose Garden. It's the perfect place in the city for catching the sunset with spectacular views of the Bay including the Golden Gate Bridge. Of course, in season, the roses are breathtaking. But it's also a good starting point for a walk up Euclid St.... More

Designed as a tiered amphitheatre and commanding a view of the Bay, in spring the Rose Garden is gorgeous. Roses of many many many varieties and colors fill the eye and nose with a profusion of color and fragrance. The Garden is so beautiful that it has become a place where newly married couples come to have their official photos... More

This lovely rose garden is in an unusual, very beautiful setting. It's located in a large, natural bowl. The bowl has been terraced, so there are about eight levels of plantings. The gardens are spotlessly clean, the roses are well-labeled, and there are many benches. The only drawback is that the paths are uneven, and it's a deep, deep bowl.... More
