Although not in bloom at the moment, the rose garden is tranquil and pleasant place to rest and recoup when the city gets to you. The views are great but when the roses are in bloom it's magnificent.

A very nice visit but needs work......it may be staffed by volunteers and I for one know what it takes to keep a garden looking tip top. be very careful on uneven paths. It is a terraced garden and not suitable for strollers or the elderly ...I hate to pick it apart because it has much to offer in variety... More

The rose garden is gorgeous -- we had a great time sniffing the different varieties and catching some quiet restorative time during our time in the city. It would be a great place to picnic or meditate too. Be warned that there are some tough paths and the less mobile may have difficulty.

If you are a rose enthusiast this is the place for you. Hundreds of roses in a terraced setting. Otherwise l would do some thing else. Recommend using a car. We used the bus which ran only once every hour!

Even with the drought, the roses looked just lovely! And on a clear day you can see forever...all the way to the golden gate ..lovely design. Met the head gardener who has got to see this lovely view for the last 2 decades and is retiring this winter....any takers?

A wonderful spot to stroll and gaze, with excellent sights both up close and in the distance. Not a spot to bring your dog.

The Rose Garden is a series of terraced rose beds with a large variety of stunning roses. A great way to spend an hour.

We returned to the Berkeley Rose Garden. The view of San Francisco from the Rose Garden today was stellar. There were some roses (too early for the garden to be in full bloom) but still pleasant. There is tennis courts here as well. It is on a Berkeley hill so its a downhill walk and then uphill - where we... More

I played in the rose garden as a child, took tennis lessons at the garden as a teen, and return to the garden every year when I visit as an adult. The rose garden is well tended and has a big variety of roses growing in semi-circular beds between old stone walls. It is especially known as a place to... More

This place has the most amazing variety of roses and is good to check out for garden ideas. Wish I could bring my small dog with me. Also, don't think it's wheelchair accessible.
