We've been coming here since we were Cal undergrads in the late 60s. It hasn't changed much other than, sadly, Moe's passing in 1997. Moe's remains our most favorite independent bookseller in the country. Moe's got even better when it began selling new and used sheet music. We've spent hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars going through the used... More

Moe's Books, an independent bookstore on Berkeley's historic Telegraph Avenue, has been serving book lovers since 1959. It has an extensive inventory of books, both new and used. This is definitely the proverbial clean, well-lighted place for books. It also happens to be extremely well-organized. In addition to books, there are journals, postcards, calendars and other items for sale, and... More

Moe's is the best bookstore in CA. It is a particular favorite for Greek and Roman classics. But they also have everything else.

I visit Moe's every time I'm in Berkeley and I always find something new. It's very well organized, well-stocked, and peaceful. Check out the rare book collection on the top floor! Reasonable prices, especially for used books. I got a bunch of gently used maps for about $3 each.

Moe's is a very good "book" store. We have gone to Moe's for years. Its on Telegraph avenue and has four floors of books. It is well organized. It also has rare books. There are often book sales. Customer service is very good. The book store has been in Berkeley since 1959.

Left my ebook device at home and got stuck looking for the author I wanted in 3 book stores. Should have started at Moe's, they have everything. Nice aesthetic, too, and I like their free poetry broadsheets.

Well worth visiting when one is in Berkeley. On several floors. It's rare for me to come out without buying something. There is a good selection of foreign language books, I think on the top floor.

This is a nice, clean bookstore with four huge floors of used books. It has a well-organized eclectic selection of both fiction and non-fiction works. The staff is very helpful.

My friends and I wandered into Moe's--what a great idea! This wonderful bookstore has four floors of books on all topics, from engineering to linguistics to cookbooks to history. The prices are much lower than at a standard bookstore, and you can bring books in for store credit. Highly recommended for textbooks or just for browsing!

I found Moe's walking home one day and had to go in...and then I stayed for hours! I guess as a doctoral student, you could say I'm a bit of a nerd, but I am also very experienced at buying used books! This store has 4 levels of bookshelves with used books on every topic imaginable. There are also some... More
