The sound at the Freight and Salvage is fantastic. Never too loud, always pleasing to the ear, nice spacious seating, always a good view. If you are hearing an artist you love - you will walk away loving them more after hearing them live here

We won tickets to Classical at the Freight. Enjoyed the quality of the music and the acoustics. Great place to hear music live!

Small theatre, good seating with lots of leg room, great accoustics, up close and personal to the stage, resonably priced. We walked from our hotel (The Shattuck Plaza), picked up our tickets at the office, walked down the street for a quick pizza dinner, had a great time listening to Vienna Teng, walked back through downtown, stopped for gellato. This... More

I had no idea that Freight and Salvage even existed until my wife took me there to see Vienna Teng perform. While the show was slightly disappointing (she was fantastic but they performed too many numbers from the musical she co-wrote, i.e. we heard too much of other people siningg and not enough of her) the venue was great. The... More

This was our first trip to F&S and it was areal treat. Very good seating. Great acoustics. Very friendly staff. Good location in the "arts" district of downtown Berkeley. Garage next door offers $5 parking but paying to get out of there is a real hassle. No real food; just snacks and beer & wine. A great experience and worth... More

Located steps away from some of Berkeley’s best eateries (from pizza joints to upscale cafés and ethnic cuisines of all descriptions), F&S is a longtime standby for great music. The old warehousey joint down by San Pablo was an institution in itself, hosting some of the greatest alternative acts in the country and beyond. For decades, the place to go... More

Great for a night out in downtown Berkeley. Lots of singer/songwriter kinds of acoustic music(folk, country, bluegrass, etc) Not a bad seat in the house! Reasonable ticket prices.Near many eateries.

Freight and Salvage built themselves a beautiful new venue for musical performances a couple of years ago. Great acoustics, comfortable seating, not too big. It's located in the downtown Berkeley 'arts district' (i.e. across the street from Berkeley Rep Theater). Definitely recommended.

This is a great place to hear all kinds of music. But even though they serve coffee , I think the name is a misnomer.... It seem more like a big music auditorium then an intimate café or coffee house... It was really bright when I went. anyway... awesome music.
