It is not uncommon for us to venture to the East Bay for eating, entertainment and just doing urban street hiking. So many really nice things to say on this campus. Try it, you'll like it.

Covers good portion of the campus and there were so many impressive buidings and halls along the route. During summer, it may be better to bring hats, caps etc to avoid direct sun since there were hardly no shades.

The campus is extremely large and depending on where you go, you could either encounter some great spots and some not so great spots. Safety is key on campus and if you're not familiar with it, you would do yourself a favor by checking in with the UC Police on campus for ideas of what's safe. For example, if you... More

The university campus is lovely and one can appreciate relaxing through a leisure walk on a sunny afternoon. It is worth going up the Sather Tower paying a fee of $ 3/- as some good views are available from the tower top. On clear day, golden gate bridge is visible as well! One can not refrain from noticing the network... More

It's as if they had no idea that 62,000 people would be descending on the city for an international soccer match. No street closures or police directing traffic to allow for traffic flow. Everyone just sat in traffic until they could move enough to find side street parking and walk 2 miles to the stadium. By the time we were... More

The place to go for a stroll, look at the buildings, watch people and enjoy a cold drink or an ice-cream.

I took a week long summer short course here. The campus is very spread out and is very liberal. The restaurants and bar scene is average at best. People were friendly most of the time. My professor was great and we had our course at the Berkley Faculty Club, which was very accommodating and had great lunch food.

I really liked the prospect of my daughter going to Cal until I found out there was no housing available for students. You were left to fend for yourself as a parent and find housing and transportation for your child. A little scary for a parent sending their 18 year old kid across the country to fend for themselves.

Given that Berkeley is a metaphorical garden of liberal thinking, it's not surprising that the campus has a diverse and multifarious flavor. It's like you never know what you'll stumble across 'round the next corner. The sentiment on campus is more regal, while the vibe on the bordering streets is decidedly more eclectic and cosmopolitan. Finding a parking spot was... More
