The University of California-Berkeley is a campus rich in history (think the Free Speech Movement of the 60s), as well as beautiful architecture. It includes the genres of Neo Gothic, Spanish, Brutalism and just plain quirky.

The campus is beautiful. If you go on CalDay in the Springtime, they have a great booksale and sometimes and old map sale. Really fun to browse to old stuff and find a treasure.

Not only is it a great school (if you can get in), there is always something going on. There are so many sporting events, concerts, and lectures, plus is just a beautiful place to take walk. You can go to the top of the campanile and get a great view of the Bay Area.

The grounds and buildings are beautiful. It is very easy to get around and to learn your way around the campus. Downtown Berkeley has a wonderful small town feel.
