If you have the grades and the money, I can't imagine a better campus than Cal. You'll get plenty of exercise trekking across the expansive campus and enjoy quality sporting events and concerts. Everything you need is within walking distance (which is good since parking is scarce!) There is definitely a different "vibe" in Berkeley and it's all about being... More

I spent a beautiful afternoon strolling through the UC Berkeley grounds after attending a conference on campus. It is a wonderful, highly entertaining, and even educational tour, with many beautiful monuments, scenic Bay views, and historical tidbits along the trail. For a few dollars you can ascend the Tower, which I felt was definitely worth the price of admission.

College campuses are always magical and wonderful to walk around. Hope and optimism fills the air. But the University of California-Berkeley is special because it's one of the BEST universities in the world and you feel the excellence immediately. The students walking around are among the brightest and have the most potential. The buildings are beautiful and the grounds a... More

Ok, for someone like myself who loves learning about US History in the 1970s, I was absolutely in awe as I walked on the campus. Protests, Freedom of Speech, and real, true activists were amidst as we walked on the campus. Crazy thing is that although this is a university, still in session with students ablaze, its a huge tourist... More

What a great find on the campus of U California Berkeley. It costs $3.00 and you climb to the top. What a nice view. They also have bell ringing and if you go at certain times they even have a concert. Do go here when in Berkeley.

After being affiliated with Cal for over 50 years I would say it's a great place to attend university.and definitely a must to take a tour if just passing through. The Doe library has to be seen with its beautiful ceilings. Have a meal at international house and enjoy the view

I went to school there years ago, so it was really neat to go back and walk around the campus. We didn't take a campus tour since I knew my way around. But I would recommend taking a tour so you can learn a lot more about the school, its history, some interesting stories, etc.

The neighorhood has a lof of unsavory characters and you need to be careful at night. You must walk in pairs not by yourself. A lot of homeless.
