My parents and I were in Slovenia for a family reunion. We took a day to travel over the Volga Pass to see this museum. Kobarid (Capporetto in Italian) has some fame as the town mentioned by Ernest Hemmingway in "A Farwell to Arms" where he was stationed as an ambulance driver, but historically it was involved in 10 battles... more

We had never even heard of the Soca front in WW I but a million people died there during The Great War. The museum does an amazing job informing viewers about this bloody front in the war and adds more weight to the argument about the futility of most wars. Do not miss this if you are in that Soca... more
