After a very long and hot walk to the beach, It was a joy to see the Palm Forest. It had been destroyed by a fire a few years ago, But now is a real treat. Some great photo opportunities and a large amount of shade and cold drinks to relax with make this an enjoyable venue for me. Great... More

It is worth climbing down to this beach and taking the walk through the palm forest up to the river Megalopotamo where you can have a refreshing splash. Yet the beach itself is not particularly exciting, because there are plenty of tourists and the water was a little dirty, with lots of sunscreen cream floating on surface. Two very cheeky... More

Very busy and spoilt by all the boat taxis. Much better to walk over to the carpark and carry on walking along the road for a few hundred meters and you will find a lovely beach all to yourselves.

We wanted to visit Palm Beach as shown in the Rough Guide to Crete. My husband was not keen for a long walk back up so took the road turning. Absolutely terrifying in an ordinary car . The road was just rock and a sheer drop on one side. Thankfully we did not meet many cars coming the other way... More

Be warned if driving, the road is very stoney. Access by boat from local, private owners, check price INCLUDES return, usually only 1 way!

Preveli beach along with its Palm Forest makes the best place to relax, explore, anything you want. Amazing view from the top and even better when you get closer!

Since the fire they have taken away the pedaloes you used to be able to ride down the river. Now you can only walk down one side. the Taverna is very average and the w/c is awful.

A nice beach, do not try to drive to it, unless you have four wheel drive and a stout heart. terrible track to drive on. Best to take a trip by boat from Plakias, however beware you may have to wait for your return voyage if you wanted to leave early. Although this is a picture post card beach, be... More

After a long drive to get there was very dissa pointed. lots of banana sellers, palm trees and not much else. Maybe we went on a bad day but I felt all the reviews I went by gave me the wrong impression...they all sounded GREAT....maybe I just missed something!
