Bhimbetka has been listed in the UNESCO heritage list, but somehow not many people are aware or curious about it. The primitiveness of human civilization in cave dwellings has been maintained in the rustic charm that this place has to offer. Surrounded by lush green canopy, each step will transport you to the primitive era where man survived and thrived.... More

Beautiful trek, jumping across the stream of water towards the caves . Its a beautiful experience. Trek is 'easy/avg' difficulty level. Beware of wild animals here, tigers have been spotted here many a times, say alternate years there comes a news in papers. Cave painting are something to look in deep. Although, people belive that pandav's from epic Mahabharat stayed... More

Its some 2 hours drive from Bhopal at a distance of 60-65 KM. Vehicle can reach upto last point. Buy a entry ticket and don't forget to take a ASI approved Guide, else you will not understand anything. Out of some 100 odd caves only 12 caves are open for general public. You require min2 hours to go through all... More

Bhimbetka is a treasure! We walked early in the morning and there was hardly anyone around. Spent around half a day savoring the myriad art forms beautifully etched on the rock surface. Though it is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, the road uphill is in pathetic condition. The ASI handouts were nowhere to be found. All the signposts have been... More

Located at a distance of 65-70 km from Bhopal, roughly a 1.5-2 hrs road trip from, this is definitely a place to visit for the history buffs. A calm and serene place replete with cave paintings. All around one can find beautiful rock formations and cave paintings. Lots of walking to be done- approx 2 km, once you park your... More
