Located in the Raisen District i.e about 50 km drive from Bhopal this place exhibits the earliest traces of human life on the Indian subcontinent and for sure this is a definitely unique place to visit. It has many prehistoric paintings in excellent condition. One should hire a guide at the site, since some of the best paintings are not... More

Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Archaeological Survey of India's collaborative initiative is the key to to preservation of such rare assets in the state. The guards and the caretakers are doing a good job in letting the people enjoy, learn but not frisk with walls and primitive paintings. The art is in fine condition after withering years of natural processes. The... More

Felt humbled to be blessed enough to be at a place where mankind had lived thousands of years ago. Enamored at nature's beauty and man's resourcefulness in surviving the harsh environment.

Our visit to the rock painting at Bhimbetka was one of the best things we have done in India so far! The site is quiet and up in the hills away from any hassel and the rock paintings are both beautiful, extensive and fascinating, we really loved it!

I visit the marvel often, and have been doing so for years. It is a way to discover oneself by discovering the artwork of our forefathers, thousands of years ago. Everytime you see the cave art, you can interpret it differently. Infrastructure is limited, with a small cafe at the entry point, serving ok food. But you won't visit such... More

The cave drawings have stood the test of time and provide a glimpse into the historical period when no other means of communication were developed. These paintings show how the people at that time hunted, danced etc. Must visit..

The caves display a lot of paintings of older human civilization. Reaching the site is a hassle if want to use public transport. Food is not available in nearby vicinity of the caves. But the paintings are amazing.
