Well preserved, maintained and spectacular-the stupas and temples at Sanchi are stunning. The slight elevation of the hill atop which they are built makes them almost prepped for the spotlight, which in itself is very well deserved. A must-see group of Buddhist stupas, possibly the pinnacle of religious architectural form in north India. The efforts made to keep this protected monument in a presentable condition are evident. The surrounding area has been well-maintained and Inspite of the flow of tourists and picnickers there is no evidence of defacing or vandalism. more
