Another small gem in the Royal enclosure. One can easily imagine cooling off under its roof 500 years ago.

beautiful big temple complex dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple gopuram is in bad ruined form and restoration work is under progress. The temple has one inner praharam. In front of the temple is again a huge bazar. At the end of the bazar is the temple tank. It was absolutely calm and we were walking hearing our own foot... More

You can sit there for hours as its a quite place... They seem to be doing some restoration work these days... Beautiful carvings, and a very nice place to spend sometime..... More

The gopuram and other top portions of the temple are made up of bricks. Though they have stood the test of time, they are withering away. A quiet place (compared to other attractions at Hampi) The pushkarini and market outside temple are good. Apparently, diamonds, gold and silver were sold in these markets.

zoom ur camera lensed=s to those pyramidal tops on temple walls (called gopurams), notice the intricate carvings, imagine them all in colors 300 years back & watch the temple come alive for you.

History can be glorious and devastating. The temple once grand and magnificent was trashed to the spoils of war and ego. It is away from the busy life of Hampi, but well worth the rest and quiet. I was one of a few people there in the early morning and loved thinking what life must have been like at a... More
