TMC is not a tourist resort but a centre of buddhist philosophy. The ambience is meditational and compels one to look inwards. The monks and teachers are highly knowledgable and inthuse in you a sense of compassion and benevolence for the entire beings. It is highly recommended for anyone looking for peace and harmony.

Took their 10-Day Introduction to Buddhism course back in October 2009, and it really changed my outlook on life. Going to be back again for some more courses this summer (2013). Really looking forward to it!

By the ripening of your Karma will you enrol in the 10 day Introduction Course. Then, you begin the silence, learn a little about Tibetan religious history, how to meditate and see inside yourself. You don't just 'retell' your life story as you've done over and over in the past, but see yourself as a living being just like your... More

14 years ago my time at Tushita was transformational! The teachers, Rinpoche's , monks and nuns shared a depth of spiritual truth, insight and mindfulness practices that have changed my life forever! Like they shared, "my life has become my meditation." I want to visit again and hopefully soon!

I took a introduction to Buddhism course at Tushita during the month of October,2012 and it was one of the best decisions I have taken ever. The place has the kinda of energy that would settle your mind, take it away from the worldly distraction into a phase of absolute peace and happpiness. One rediscovers himself/herself here as I did... More

Very peaceful place to visit and have a closest darshan with tibetial style poojas, where monks are not bothered with the visitors and are extremely involved in their poojas. Nice place.

Whether you're interested in meditation, philosophy, or both, Tushita's introductory courses and retreats are a great introduction. They also host more advanced courses and retreats every now and then, and you can check their schedule online (http://www.tushita.info/).

Dharamsala. The land of his holiness, the Dalai Lama. You'd think that in a place that is founded upon Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan liberation, there would be a place for the common person to go meditate. Unfortunately, meditation in all of the main monastery's is restricted to monks only, (unless you want to sit and meditate by yourself amongst swarms... More
