If you walk up from Mcleodganj, you reach dharamkot and right at the entry, you find Tushita. The hall of this meditation centre will take you to another world. Also, there is a short cut to go back to Mcleod from here!

I attended the Introduction to Buddhism course at Tushita in August 2014. The centre is absolutely beautiful - surrounded by high trees and on clear days you can even overlook all of McLoedganj. First, about the course. Very interesting, but i think i gained more out of all the readings that i did than the teaching lessons. The silence really... More

I visited in April 2014 after 2 years ( July 2012 ) and had a tremendous experience. Venerable Joan took our classes , she epitomises love Compassion and influences your psyche. Richard is actually more humorous than meditative . Very good management and great ambience with good food. Would definitely visit again.

I attended the intro to Buddhism course and really enjoyed it. I came for the meditation, but enjoyed the teachings far more. The particular meditation teacher at the time (Richard) didn't do it for me at all, and the meditations were not Buddhist meditations, just his own style. Other meditation leaders (Jonas, Glen, Joan) were much better and worth doing.... More

Stayed at Tushita in April for the Introduction to Buddism Course. First of all the surroundings of Tushita are beautiful, it is so peaceful even though it is not that far from the town. The facilities at Tushita include drop in meditation, library and movie days. The accommodation was much better than I expected, yes it is basic but perfectly... More

One of the best places to follow Buddhist teachings from excellent teachers. Intro courses as well as intermediate and advanced, drop in meditations, movie days, library. Silence during the courses really allows to get into the teachings, and at the same time a strong bond is formed with other participants and the environment. Great food, too, so important in the... I went for 3 meditation sessions....its held from 9 30 am to 10 30 am on weekdays. Its totally worth the effort ....the place is beautiful, silent and the guided meditation is extremely effective. Would advice everyone to visit the center if they are in Mcleodganj.

I took the 10 day intro to Buddhism course in February 2012. I had studied a little bit about Buddhism prior, but this experience confirmed my faith in the Buddha's teachings. I met so many amazing people and some of us actually went on to travel together. The vegetarian food was excellent. The room was simple and clean. It does... More
