We did our first gorilla tracking from Ruhija. Please note that there are 4 different places you can go gorilla trekking in Bwendi National Park. We had been recommended to go from Ruhija as this should be the best place. We only had to trek for 30 min when we found our group. It was absolute amazing. There were 12-13... More

I know it is such a cliché but the honest truth is that hanging out with the gorillas was 'the best day of my life'!!!! I originally looked at the cost and thought it was a bit steep, now having done it I would have paid double!!!! I did make a few mistakes which you can learn from. 1- I... More

Gorilla trekking is a once in a life time experience. It was amazing but not necessarily easy - they are called” mountain” gorillas for a reason. You may have to hike up and/or down mountains for a couple of hours before you find where they are located. This is how it works. There are different families/groups of gorillas located in... More

I have just completed a 15 day safari in Uganda using Nkuringo Walking Safari as my tour operator visiting Zwia Rhino Sanctary,Murchison National Park,Kibale NP, Queen Elizabeth NP, Bwindi NP and Lake Bunyoni. I chose Nkuringo Walking Safari as I was keen to walk from Buhoma to Kisoro and to track the Nkuringo Gorilla family. Robert answered emails promptly, had... More

This is the reason we came to Uganda... But of course we found so much more! I contacted Nkuringo walking safaris because of their great reviews on trip advisor. We wanted to self drive and other companies would not deal with us unless we booked their car and driver. So I was happy to go with Nkuringo. They were very... More

We went on a short trip with Churchill up to Bwindi to see the gorillas and then we stayed at the Bwindi Community Camps (I hope I got the proper name right) and went on a walk to the waterfalls. We then went to Kampala where my kids went river rafting down the Nile and the next day Churchill took... More

I did a 3 day walking tour from Buhoma to Kisoro including the hike up Mt Sabinyo. The company employ local guides and drivers who are always on standby to help you enjoy your stay including ensuring we crossed the border to Rwanda without problems. The hikes started early but were usually over by early afternoon giving you the afternoon... More

Amazing experience! Spent an hour with the gorillas. Trek dependent on group. My trek was 7 hours in total, which was longer than usual as took a long time to find the gorillas as they kept moving. Most treks are shorter.

Nkuringo Walking Safaris organized a four day hike for me in the south-west of Uganda - starting with climbing Mt Sabinyo, a one day hike from Kisoro to Nkuringo including crossing one of the lakes with a canoe, one day of gorilla tracking and the final leg of the hike from Nkuringo to Buhoma through Bwindi Forrest. The hiking is... More

Nkuringo walking safaris is a great asset to the african wildlife tourism industry. They are very well organized, helpful, responsive and put together an excellent trek. Add to that the amiable and relaxed Nkuringo group and you have an unforgettable experience. Have your audiences spellbound at the pub with stories from this trip. absolutely amazing. My guide, Asgario, was great,... More
