I am 66 years old and decided it was time to take my daughters and don in law trekking in Mt Kenya. After much researching chose GotoMtKenya which proved to be an excellent choice. We chose the Chogoria traverse and were able to take our time and make detours to see waterfalls and viewpoints. We camped twice and here the... More

We hiked the 6 nights Chogoria-Sirimon route with "Gotomountkenya.com" and were very pleased with the service we received. The team of porters, cooks and guides was lead by Zack who was very knowledgeable about the trails, wildlife and the mountains. The scenery on this route was unbelievably beautiful and it allowed us to acclimatise in time for our accent up... More

I went to Mt Kenya with at friend and we booked a five days trip (chogoria-sirimon rute) with the company gotomountkenya.com. Which we can highly recommend. Evans answered our e-mails with all our questions almost immediately, And the trip was well planned, giving us time to adapt to the heights. It was a tough trip, but most people in a... More

I completed the up Sirimon down Chogoria route with Equitorial Star Adventure Safari. My main point of contact in the lead-up to the trip was Duncan, who replied quickly and was always ready to accommodate my changing schedule. I went with these guys because they were both great value (100-200 dollars cheaper than anyone else) and because I knew they... More

Ended up doing a solo guided trek and would not have survived without my crew - Charles the guide, Paul the porter, and David the cook, who were just amazing and very helpful. I was whining half the time because of the cold yet they were very patient with me. My family and friends were understandably worried that I was... More

We had planned a 5 night trek up Mt Kenya, an injury when doing a day trek in Sambura meant that we had to change our plans at the last minute. Evans was very helpful arranging transport and accommodation for a 3 night safari in the Mara and Nakuru. Our driver (Joseph) was fabulous and spoke good English and was... More

We did the three day hike up and down Sirimone. We went with odyssey safari and payed $350 student price even though only one of us was a student! I looked into many tour guide companies and equatorial star offered the same price too. Many companies can charge as much as $750 though and the only difference is pick up... More

I have not climbed the Kilimanjaro, but according to what I have been told, Mount Kenya is more beautiful. Indeed there is a variety of landscapes (alpine trees, rocks, mountain lakes, etc.) and chance to spot animals (I saw three elephants and an hyrax over there). As for the difficulty, it is not for everyone (especially because of altitude) but... More
