We rode the excursion train out of Van Buren to Winslow and back. It was so much fun! Just gorgeous. Going over the trestles and through the tunnel was thrilling! (Kiss your sweetie in the tunnel.) Spring for the first class ticket. You will be glad to have the extra room and a table. Just know that the box lunch... More

After seeing a deal for this on Groupon my fiance and I jumped at the opportunity to ride the rails. Took the shorter 3 hour tour from Van Buren to Winslow. Ride was bumpy and trying to go to the bathroom during what feels like an earthquake was an adventure but other than that had a good time. There wasn't... More

Wonderful views from the Vista Dome car. Entertaining and extremely friendly crew. Good family trip for the day. Visit the Opera House in Van Buren and be sure to ask the hostess for the behind the scenes story.

We decided to take the train from Springdale to Van Buren. The train leaves at 8 am with a 2 hour stop over in Van Buren and arrives back at 5:30pm approximately. The train itself is amazing it is old and has character - the people who work on it are amazing and entertaining and it is very interesting to... More

Our journey started at 8 am and arriving back at 5:30 pm. A day filled with charming and engaging personnel from the train. A definite must do if you get the chance.

If you enjoy train rides, or this is your first time on a train, you will enjoy but don't expect much in VanBuren, AR. Most of the stores were closed for business during our trip on May, 2015. The trees blocked most of the view past the tracks so couldn't see much scenery. Probably pretty in the fall or early... More

My wife and I took this train ride from Springdale, Ar. to Van Buren, Ar., the scenic views are beautiful, the history of the train tracks that run thru the mountains is unbelievable and some of the historic site of men and women who perished on the construction of this part of the railroad that you wont read in school... It's been awhile since I went on this, but it was neat. I enjoyed the ride and the lunch that was served to our large group. Very relaxing, but at some point I felt a little TOO relaxed and a little bored. Maybe it's because I'm used to more activity. However, the ride was nice and the scenery beautiful. The... More

We went September 2014, leaving from Springdale to Winslow, we road in a standard car towards the back that we bought the ticket from Groupon. It was ok, there wasn't much foliage yet and you can't see the trusses from inside the car, which I had hoped you could.. some of the sites was just traveling through some country folks... More

We road the train excursion from Van Buren, Arkansas to Winslow, Arkansas. We sat in first class and our seating was very private with other couples. The scenery along the railway was fantastic. Would recommend it to anyone who loves the mountains of Arkansas. The sandwich could have been better but all and all a great trip.
