If you enjoy train rides, or this is your first time on a train, you will enjoy but don't expect much in VanBuren, AR. Most of the stores were closed for business during our trip on May, 2015. The trees blocked most of the view past the tracks so couldn't see much scenery. Probably pretty in the fall or early... More

My wife and I took this train ride from Springdale, Ar. to Van Buren, Ar., the scenic views are beautiful, the history of the train tracks that run thru the mountains is unbelievable and some of the historic site of men and women who perished on the construction of this part of the railroad that you wont read in school... It's been awhile since I went on this, but it was neat. I enjoyed the ride and the lunch that was served to our large group. Very relaxing, but at some point I felt a little TOO relaxed and a little bored. Maybe it's because I'm used to more activity. However, the ride was nice and the scenery beautiful. The... More

We went September 2014, leaving from Springdale to Winslow, we road in a standard car towards the back that we bought the ticket from Groupon. It was ok, there wasn't much foliage yet and you can't see the trusses from inside the car, which I had hoped you could.. some of the sites was just traveling through some country folks... More

We road the train excursion from Van Buren, Arkansas to Winslow, Arkansas. We sat in first class and our seating was very private with other couples. The scenery along the railway was fantastic. Would recommend it to anyone who loves the mountains of Arkansas. The sandwich could have been better but all and all a great trip.

I made a horrible mistake and showed up with my 4 year old at the station in Springdale instead of Fort Smith. We couldn't stay for the next ride and instead of saying too bad, they not only promised to let me book a later date this summer but they let us ride for an hour that day. It meant... More

This is a fantastic step back in time to the golden age of passenger railroad. No matter where you sit you will have great views. We enjoyed the dome car. Rolling through towns and over high trestles in the Boston Mountains offers a priceless look at this part of Arkansas you don't get from the road. If you go to... More

We traveled first class on the train in November and rode to Van Buren. We loved the views, bridges, abd tressels. Large spacious seating and so comfortable! We would probably pick the car that has the clear top for viewing next time! Amazing trip! Highly recommend!

I love trains so my opinion is heavily weighed in favor of the railroad. I bought my family (2 adults & 3 kids) tickets at $12 & $7 per person on the Holiday Express from Springdale to Johnson, approximately 8 miles round trip and one hour in length. The station and the trains are beautiful, I was enchanted. The staff's... More

We drove down from Northern Illinois with 2 grandsons in order to take the kids pajama Christmas train. Their website is lacking on information but I purchased club car tickets & hoped for the best. We stopped by in the afternoon to pick our tickets up & discovered a parking lot with kids activities so we stayed to have some... More
