Make sure you wear shoes with great traction and ankle support. The trail is very rocky and steep but rewarding.

We love going to Pinnacle Mountain because it is literally right outside the city limits of Little Rock. There is so much to do here from hiking to canoeing to paddle boats, to picnicking to biking to horseback riding to walking The Arboretum Trail or the Observation Deck or climbing to the peak (easy side or difficult) of Pinnacle Mountain.... Just a short drive from little rock this tiny mountain offers well marked trails and great views. Around the base are picnic and fishing areas great for a family day.

We rode our bikes around Pinnacle State Park in May. We highly recommend the overlook which offers a great view of the Arkansas river and quite a few birds. The bicycle trails from downtown Little Rock make this a very easy to reach destination from downtown (a 16 mile round trip). An absolute must with kids in tow!

This is a regular stop for us on weekends. The summit trails are always nice, but I recommend trying some of the other trails. Drive past the main entrance to the park until you get to the first road on the right. Go down that road a little way and you will get to the park visitor center. You should... More

Who says you can't find great hiking in the midwest? Look no further than Pinnacle Mountain State Park. The rangers are the friendliest, and the mountain will NOT disappoint. If you take the East Summit Trail, be ready to be challenged in just 1 mile. It will push you the limits. If you need something a bit tamer, well the... More

We had a family picnic/outing at Pinnacle Mountain State Park to celebrate my husband's birthday. All of our children, who live nearer to Little Rock than we do, met us at the visitor's center to check it out, then we drove down to the Arkansas Arboretum to take a nice afternoon walk. The park was beautifully maintained and all of... More

Pinnacle Mountain is beautiful. You can't beat the price of admission- free. We have hiked to the summit in the past, and it is a challenging, but great trek. This time we hiked up to the overlook, checked out the visitor center, and found a geocache. Looks like they offer kayaking and paddle boats in season, and there is a... More

Pinnacle Mountain State Park is definitely worth a visit. At the top of the mountain, you can view the Arkansas River, Ouachita Forest, and Downtown Little Rock all from the same location. Taking the steeper east side of the mountain also presents a fun challenge. The reason I gave this attraction a four and not a five is because activities... More

While traveling through on business, we took side trip. We only walked to the overlook and nothing more. But the view was spectacular and worth the drive to this park. No charge to get in and a very short easy walk to the first overlook. Peaceful place.
